Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Games (Minecraft etc.) as MIDI controller ?

I am not an expert in games like Minecraft, but always on the lookout for new sequencing ideas. Minecraft has this whole "redstone" logic built in, and I wonder if it is possible to make it send MIDI notes.
Or are there any other similar creative games that allow to be used as MIDI controller ?

Redstone can do a lot, but I'm not sure if it can send MIDI notes directly. You might need some external software to bridge that gap. For other creative games, you could check out something like LittleBigPlanet. It’s super creative and you can build some pretty intricate contraptions. By the way, if you're into gaming, you might want to look into some real cash app games.

I can't answer the question, but it gives me an idea. I know game controllers can be used as midi devices. Maybe there's a way to record a midi track in parallel from game controller input while playing a game.

There could be some interesting rhythms generated during game play.

  • MusiKraken does some interesting things with games controllers ( and almost everything else you can think of )
