Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

My question is...what are the best ways to use oneshot drum samples in Cubasis 3? Once I challenge myself to use Cubasis as a creative environment, I'm probably going to go the Sitala route myself. But I'm interested to know other methods mate.
Hi Jamie, I would like to know how to handle these situations in Cubase:
1. I'm using MIDI Curve AUv3 FX in Loopy Pro permanently for my MIDI keys. And I need only one instance of AU because of routing principles of Loopy Pro. Is it possible to do that in the same/similar way in Cubasis or do I need to put MIDI Curve at first to every MIDI track I want to record/overdub?
2. I'm using 2 EQ profiles on master track in LP, one for speakers, one for headphones. Is there any easier way to switch between them in Cubasis other than selecting the EQ FX preset?
I thought you could create section markers in Cubasis? I think I read you can fake it with midi sections but would love to see that implemented @LFS
And I will second the thank you for engaging with your customers. Much respect.
Hi @Lars
Unfortunately it’s still the same.
I have reported this behavior so many times. Also on the Steinberg forum.
The problem is essentially that all audio content imported or created/generated ends up in the same Audio Files folder.
A user is able to create folder structures. But the only way to get files in there is to manually move them there after the fact Which is not a workflow but a workslow😆
Cubasis essentially is using a central media pool for all projects. Which makes no sense.
When i start a new project
For example
I create a new folder for a project
I Create New Project
Name: Project A.
Now:
I import audio files
I record audio
I export audio
Autosaves are made
Etc.
All these actions are project based.
So all these should go directly to a project folder imho.
I mean this is no different as you expect from any DAW or NLE.
If you do 1 project at a time, sure this will work. Currently a user can only clean up the mess afterwards. And has no way to start properly preventing a mess in the first place. Hope it makes sense.
Is there any way to consolidate a project?
This would ease the pain a little but still not ideal.
Thank you.

This will be the first of a weekly workshop answering your questions about Cubasis 3. If there’s anything else you’re struggling with at all, comment here and I will add it to the list. I’ve noted the ones in this thread so far.
I've been using the free trial of Logic Pro. My favorite feature is the external instrument plugin. I have many hardware synths. Saving each as a synth patch that I can simply drag onto any track as if it was a soft synth is great. I don't have to set MIDI and audio channels each time. I don't need to have a separate MIDI and audio track for each instrument. I can even bounce the audio in place. I wish Cubasis had this feature.
CBT-3745 Ableton Link has been updated to LinkKit 3.2.0
What does this mean?
They’re just keeping up with updates to the under-the-hood Ableton Link libraries.
https://github.com/Ableton/LinkKit/releases
In plain words: bug fixes, iOS 17 compatibility, and support for IPv6 networking. The source code is from Sep 19, 2023.
I used to be able to run Cubasis and AUM together on my iPad Pro 2022 but now am unable, I’ve tried tweaking the sample rates etc but no joy 😕 workflow 🫠🫠🫠
Hi @bargale
Our engineering gave the issue a check (see video here: https://we.tl/t-bYQLa52JK1).
If the problem persists, please share a video with us, alongside the info about your devices in use.
Thanks
Lars
What?!😮 I had no idea CB3 had Ableton Link in the first place. I thought no DAW’s had it. Was it just me?
It was just you - this was instantly awesome when it dropped a couple of years ago!
Yes I thought it might be 🫤 Is there any other DAW’s now with Link that I might have missed? Does Logic Pro even have it?
Yes. Logic Pro on IPad also has Abelton link Support:

Here is the entire list of Ableton Link enabled products.
https://www.ableton.com/en/link/products/#?item_type=ios
NS2, BeatMaker 3, Zenbeats, and Logic.
I never got on with NS2 or Beatmaker 3 despite several dedicated efforts, they seem to be fading a bit now? Maybe?
Logic - I don’t want a subscription for (even though I have other subscriptions)…
Zenbeats - why haven’t I spent more time with Zenbeats? (I don’t like the name - at all… it’s just me, could that be it? 😄) Why couldn’t they have called it Roland Grooviosbox or something?
I’ve not given any of these much attention really - I think I may have too many apps.
I was aware that Zenbeats had Link, I didn’t know that the others had. I really should look into Zenbeats a bit more. That 303 thing they have going on is a bit unconvincing though - what’s it called - ZC1 Genetic mutations or something?
I'm not advocating for apps - just answering the question. 😉
Yes absolutely of course, I did appreciate that. I know each are held to be marvellous by a great many. I just thought I would go on a little personal historical ramble abut them for the world to enjoy. I was wondering and perhaps hoping that another soul may have shared a similar sentimet…
I absolutely loved Zenbeats until it became unstable and unpredictable. It’s underrated , or at least it was .
There are only two serious DAWs on the platform , Cubasis and Logic. Logic has the edge but Cubasis does everything I need with the plugins I bought.
From what I read you can get Cubasis 3 by upgrading from LE for $18….totally worth it. I wish I knew but now you do
In that vein, an interesting use-case is to try to either use a Link capable DAW or app with a tempo track as a tempo driver for Link capable apps that don't have one.
For instance, trying to use Patterning or Loopy Pro, which have tempo changes and transition times, to drive tempo in something like Cubasis that doesn't have a tempo track.
I know what Ableton Link does, but what do people actually use it for ?
Here’s a cool use -
But, the way I would like to use it is, to sync Cubasis 3 to Cubase 13 Pro. But unfortunately big daddy Cubase does not have Ableton Link. So, I can use Ableton Link to sync Cubasis 3 to many DAWs or apps or whatever across multiple devices and DAWs including desktop ones, but not the one I want. I have thrown my teddy out of the pram and kicked and screamed and stamped my feet, but still no-one has done my bidding.
One handy little Link trick is to load Loopy as an FX in AUM, turn host sync off in Loopy Pro, and turn Link and Link Start/Stop on in both Loopy and AUM. By default Loopy starts off with no initial tempo set. It then guesses a tempo based on the first loop you record, sets it, and starts the transport. Because of Link, AUM's tempo gets set and the transport started. It's a great way to start an AUM jam off of an idea you have in your head without having to think about anything other than playing that idea you cooked up in your head. Of course AUM isn't needed if you just use Loopy as the host, but it can be useful for those who are AUM focused. This can work in other hosts too, including probably Cubasis, though I haven't tried that out.
Sorry, but I must correct your statement according “only two serious DAW”…
As I see it, Auria Pro is a powerful DAW with everything we need concerning traditional timeline DAW with both MIDI & Audio, both AUv3 & IAA, busses, MIDI routing, grouping, etc etc… Updated three month ago.
Although both Cubasis and Auria Pro is really awesome, Logic Pro is on another level as an compound product.
