Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

FAC Smash is all about generating explosive energy for your beats and instruments! Squash, squeeze... SMASH your sound, or simply get that magical gentle touch when you seek refinement and finesse.
Behind its unconventional and flashy appearance lies a series of boosted upward compressors meticulously designed to include the specific nuances and colors of vintage analog devices. The plugin can operate on either one or three frequency bands and provides a couple of filter slopes ranging from a subtle and transparent 6dB to an impressive 192dB!
The workflow is optimized for simplicity and intuitiveness, enabling effortless transitions between subtle adjustments and complete alterations with its up to 120dB of upwards compression.
Yes!, FAC Smash can push the sound to its extreme limits, potentially creating a "sausage-like" signal. But fear not - the 'flatten' feature steps in to restore dynamics while preserving the aggressive character, giving you the best of both worlds.
The built-in noise gate circuit at the input adds yet another layer of sonic sculpting possibilities.
Whether acting on the entire signal or individual frequency bands, this circuit can transform your sound, expanding your creative possibilities.
But the magic doesn't stop there; FAC Smash offers parallel compression, an optional master Brickwall limiter, and a waveform view of both the pre and post signal! You'll have a clear visual representation of your audio as you sculpt it to perfection.

An OTT-styled compressor/limiter? Sounds like my kind of thing. Pre-ordered. Thank you @FredAntonCorvest
Sounds like just what I’m needing……………. yet again 😛
How is this compressor different than say Medusa? Sorry for the noob question
Well it’s green for a start.
Haha, you must really pay attention to details
Bram’s had WWOOT out for years…
I had this same thought...or compared to the Brambos OTT compressor.
And I have that app too.
Do you use it much?
Not something I would use much, but maybe it would help me do things that are different from what I usually do. At that price I’m on it.
When I'm creating something more Brosteppy, for sure.
Love me a good OTT. It's gonna need some special sauce to beat Bleass Multiband compressor tho...
But, ya know... I'm open to it. FAC UI's are the best.
Until May 16th. 🫠
Transit holds a good OTT module too
Oh cool!
OHh damn. Second app I bought today 🤦🏻♂️. I’m gonna be APPsolutely ruined if this continues.
FAC is top notch and I'll probably grab this, but I'm wondering what the specific cases are where this would be used over Transient, Medusa, or PunchLab. (PunchLab has become my go-to for the effects described in the FAC video.)
I agree. Punchlab is AWESOME and I just used Medusa for the first time in a little melody I made. I love FAC apps but as a not so new app buyer, I want to make sure how this is different. I can’t keep buying apps like a fiend…. lol
I'd say this app looks comparable to OTT, and as pointed out above, we have WooTT by @brambos . I still preordered to support Fred. 🤷♂️
Lmao I thought OTT was a special type of compressor… my bad. I will support him as well, but I am still curious as to how is this different than Medusa.
Yes OTT does upward and downward compression simultaneously.
Thank you so much for explaining! A compressor like Medusa does things differently how?
Oh, I misread the question. I'm not sure as I haven't used Medusa, but after skimming the Medusa manual, it appears Medusa can do either upward or downward compression, not both at the same time. Unless I misread something. It's all here for you to read yourself.

I am gonna check it out and watch some videos about the difference. Thanks buddy!
Ofc mate. Best of luck. 🙂
Thank you all !
Smash is very different than my other products, here is a short video comparison of both Smash and Punchlab:
https://www.instagram.com/reel/C69JoPUMMjW
I ran the same loop through Smash and Punchlab, FAC Smash is more aggressive and I got a nice scratch-like sound (The first one is 00:19 sec). The gate helps a lot to get something more tight that cut nicely, and the mix param blends the single and multiband noise gate signals.
FAC Punchlab is a super suite of dynamic effects for mix enhancement, boosting impact, and shaping drums with punch and character. It offers an attack shaper, boum resonant filter, equalizer, fizz audio rate modulator, heat exciter, phat saturator, tone filters, clipper, and limiter.
FAC Smash specializes in extreme compression, capturing vintage analog nuances, and aggressive sound shaping. Built upon tuned single/multi-band upward compressors, it comes with some clever sonic sculpting capabilities thanks to the noise gate and the flatten option.
While it may evoke some similarity with FAC Medusa, Smash follows a different signal path, and the compressor algorithms are also different.

Thank you man! You are a top dawg!!
Thanks for the video, Fred. Looking forward to playing with this when it drops.
Great! It's just magical! He's doing the right thing! Pumps, inflates, drives and accelerates the drums into space! Very cool! But add it a little bit like a sauce!
Got a chance to try out Smash today prior to its release. It isn't really an OTT clone afterall. It can do OTT-styled compression but is capable of subtler applications too. All depends on how one dials things in.
Smash could jolly well be a perfect alternative to the BarkFilter Tripleband preset, which is one of many applications Smash can be used for. I've yet to compare it to Medusa, which I will do tomorrow, but the preorder price is cheap for what you get.
Cheers.
