Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
lightning to USB-C adapter that passes audio (for my Ambeo Smart Headset)
I ordered an adapter, but it doesn't pass audio through. Do you all know of an adapter that can do this besides an official Apple gougily expensive version?
Comments
The one adapter that I know works with the Ambeo headset (and was recommended by Sennheiser) is this:

It was available on Amazon and ebay -

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/384225184468?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=puc3xn9frm2&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=5uzAoUoyRgW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Unfortunately I don't think Anker are making it any more but you may find it somewhere.
I really appreciate it!!!
I ended up just paying the Apple tax after trying one that didn't work. The Apple one definitely does work with my Ambeo. I wish you success in finding a cheaper option!
This was also what I got back last year, it works great. I was living in China at the time, so had no trouble getting it
Well, it did work until it recently stopped working. Can't find one online where I am. Do I have to fork out £30 for an Apple adapter or does anyone have other cheaper recommendations? Seems hard indeed to find 3rd party adapters that pass audio through.
I bought one from Ali Express. I think it was £10 delivered but if you have a look there's loads on there that are basically all the same. I had a USB hub before that but it fixed the volume output. The adapter allows me to change it from my ipad.
Thnx, hmm, I'm in India now, Ali Express is banned here. I'm also a bit reluctant to get another of those Anker ones tbh, thinking about it, as it didn't even get particularly heavy use before stopping working.
Really? That's surprising. I thought India were friends with China?
The brand name of mine is La Brodée.
This one.
Annoyingly, it's £3.99 on Amazon UK, meaning I paid more than twice as much and waited a couple of weeks longer than I needed to, for delivery from China.
This is not the same thing - this thread is about lightning to usb-c audio adapter, the one you have linked to is usb-c to 3.5mm mini jack. Both useful for sure, but for different purposes.
Ah, my mistake. Apologies.
Mr Gav, excuse an personal question, but, I’m really curious why you’re travelling/working in different countries?
Of course, you don’t have to answer if it’s too personal…
If I remember right, you was in Israel earlier?
Wish I could pipe in with some helpful information but I ended up going through 3 other brands before I broke down and got the Apple connector. I do wish I'd tried the Anker though. I've never had any issues with the several hubs and connectors I've bought.
The Anker adapter still seems to be available direct from Anker on ebay in the uk at least - could be worth checking in other locations.

As I recall I made a much lower offer than the asking price and it was accepted!
