Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

It’s all good… I might just stick with what I have for a few more months … one of the things I love about GB is the chord editor … being able to have my daughter email me chord progressions and I can put them in and play them and have all extraneous notes removed (yes I play everything by hand , no step recording or midi ), is extra useful and a bit special to me
I’ll cross post here.
Don't forget about Zenbeats as a alternative to Cubasis.
The touch bass can be replaced by Geoshred or ifretless bass
Ha I definitely endorse and fully support that notion. I love Cubasis 3. Its UI is easy on the eyes - and mind - and it’s fun to use. I think it’s a logical stepping stone from GB.
@jwmmakerofmusic uses it on iPhone as well I believe. And Nanostudio 2 of course. You just dont have audio tracks there.
Some will say Logic, but imo, Cubasis is the iOS DAW. It’s one of the OGs, is regularly updated with new features, and it just works. It’s a very stable app for the most part. And the stock plugins/IAPs are some of they most pro sounding on iOS.
C3 also has a chord mode and allows you to import midi chord progressions. But I do think there’s a lot of good things about GB. It’s simple but has some unique features. All the samples and loops, the drummers and world instruments, to sampler effects, etc. It was my first DAW and up until C3 I used it for half of everything I did (Cubasis 2 was the other half). I even still use it occasionally now.
MagicDelay because I like MagicBlur, ApeMatrix because I was curious about it and DroneLab because it was cheap...that's it...

E-l-s-a - wow, wasn’t that impressed by Rymdigare, which I’ve had for a while, clearly need to dig in a bit more. Bundle coming up…
In Theory
Samples from Mars, the new vinyl samples this year finally tipped me over the edge. I very rarely buy sample packs.
Here’s hoping the Sugar Bytes sale is still going tomorrow so I can complete my collection again. I’m a loyal customer, all their stuff is great.
I missed the Elastic deals and they no longer offer any bundles so holding off for now. Did grab Wretchup though
I’m pretty much done now though for apps. Got everything I want and getting to know what I have a bit better.
drum roll
AudioLayer Soundfont IAP
(and that’s it)
A way to scratch the “historic research” itch as there are plenty of SF2 around made from sample sets of old ROMplers. Specifically an alternative to buying TGX99 which is loony huge. And as I got AudioLayer at a ridiculous % off originally this sends a few quid Harry’s way to make that up.
Didn't buy any iPad apps, I'm good there.
Desktop:
I bought a bunch of plugins that I'll never use, but my best purchase was Ableton Live 11 Suite, with a free upgrade to Live 12 when it's released next year.
Glitchmachines Subvert 2.0 & Cataract 2.
AIR OPx-4, AIR Delay Pro, Flavor Pro, & Mini D.
Baby Audio Parallel Aggressor & Smooth Operator.
Izotope Neoverb.
Universal Audio Essentials Bundle.
Waves F6 & H-Reverb.
Melda Production MFreeFXBundle unlock.
Sonic Charge Permut8.
I’m sure that resonates with most people here…
I kept my app purchases to a minimum this year. I only purchased Hilda and VHS Synth. I bought Hilda because almost every hardware and software synth I have (aside from MiRack) is subtractive so, I thought it would be fun to have something a little more experimental. VHS Synth was purchased because I needed some 80’s sounds for a project I’m working on with a client.
Got a little carried away but lots to play with and figure out over the next few months.
Neo Soul keys expansions (I can’t have enough EPs)
Hilda (Recommended a ton here)
IFX racks (not sure I’ll use these much over more specialized effects)
Mononoke (quite enjoying this but I’m confused by it)
Replicant 3 (love it, but I need to tame it)
ReSlice (still think I might have preferred Segments)
Synthmaster 2 and expansion (love the Synth Giants - a bit heavy on EDM in the expansions)
BLEASS Slow Machine (been using this a lot)
Pure Upright (loved Pure Piano, no brainer)
Discord4 (haven’t had chance to play with it much yet)
ReAMP (surprisingly subtle)
NoLimits2 (bought it before I stumped for the FabFilter bundle)
MagicVerb (quickly became my favorite reverb)
Megalit (always wanted it)
Other Desert Cities (love it!)
Pipa (can I import my own vocal sounds into this?)
Speakers (not very impressed to be honest)
Eventide Reverb Bundle (was only $5 because I already had Blackhole)
Quartet1 (great jazz piano practice that I need)
FabFilter Pro Bundle (amazing and a joy to use)
Hillman Synth (more organs)
Just Piano (haven’t found one I like yet or tweaked - sounds too dampened but had my first refund request denied for some reason - would rather have their Farfisa)
Borsta (sucker for Kevgr)
Trooper (for the fun of it)
Looks like a lot of cash but I recently moved over from desktop (NI) and I can’t imagine apps on IOS can stay so cheap forever. It’s an extraordinary price difference and absolute bargain.
I just added it up and I cannot believe I spent over $800 recently on desktop plugins and a DAW. Wow, it really adds up doesn't it?
Haha looks like my list last year. Think I spent $200+ last Black Friday. Compared to maybe $35 this year.
I was in a bad state emotionally as the BF sales started trickling in. That does not bode well for ADHD impulsivity, but means great things for app developers! I ended up with:
So yeah, overkill? Maybe. Hours of fun until next Black Friday - FOR SURE!
I bought AudioThing/Hainbach Lines. I liked it so much I bought it for desktop. I bought Koala sampler. I liked it so much I ordered the TE EP-133.
Actually these days I'm a bit more careful about the plugins I buy and install on my PC or iPad. Watch lots of videos first, research, etc. I'm making good use of the plugins I've purchased recently.
Added some of these to my setup. I’m relatively new to iPad music, but after “connecting” with STARK this year, and playing with fun apps like Slammer and Ting, I liked Klevgränd’s simple and straight forward approach. The simpler, the better. So I got one more, then another one, a third and so on…
At one point I decided to see how far I could go with Klevgränd’s apps alone for audio engineering, mixing, mastering. The folder outlines my workflow to some extent. Mine is a guitar & microphone setup mainly, so it starts with drums, guitar, vocals and effects. I want to be able to dial in good sound, so each of the apps must fit into that idea.
I also picked up Multicam IAP for LumaFusion, which means these plugins should also double for video production. Obviously the audio part of it. If you have any experience with Klevgränd’s suite of apps, and can see some potential in a Loopy Pro & Klevgränd workflow, which other apps would you use, and what apps would you remove?
At least if we stick to the rule of maximum 16 apps, for the sake of limitation… Just curious, but thanks for feedback on this. It might tip the scales before end of sales. Don’t hesitate to critique my workflow, if you think I would be far better off doing it your way instead. Like I said, I’m new to this landscape, but I like to learn!
So far very small since I have so much at this point. Probably the least I’ve purchased during any BF in the past 6 years or more. I did buy Salome just before the app holidays too.
Hilda - Top of wishlist for awhile, I waited for a sale to grab, unique and fun.
Pipa - unique vocal synth and I always liked Hillman. At only $3.99 I wanted to try and I like it.
Lofly Dirt - a simple 1 knob fx for only $1
Other Desert Cities - enjoyed the beta, and it does a lot for only $4
Still getting…
Bleass Arp - Upon Release on intro pricing, yes please.
Riffler Flow - I really like riffler and this one seems a bit more in my wheelhouse. Hoping for a bundle or Holiday sale hopefully.
Probably Getting…
Bounce Bud - I like Cem’s apps and this is another cool midi generato. 1 of 2 Cem apps I don’t have.
Pure Synth Platinum - Yamaha Blue Beast IAP - lots of great sounds
That accordion is so fun. You may think you don't need an accordion app, but hear me out....!
Can you get bluegrass type sounds out of their accordion? The demo sounds very . . . French.
ifretless is much better for bass than GS.
I have many of them. Sax, flute, and trumpet/flugelhorn are my personal favorites, but they all sound good.
I know what you mean. I ALMOST bought some very expensive stuff but just barely held on...for now.
This one's funny bc I looooove Teraverse but still haven't found my stride with Tera Pro.
Okay, this is the real reason I replied. The "right way" is to stick it on anything and choose the "Tripleband" preset, then adjust as necessary (maybe a bit less on the Output gain and some basic notching on the filter tab about does it). If it works which is more often than not, it's MAGIC! If not, drop it from that channel and go back to faffing around with some of these other great purchases! That's my strategy, anyway.
I’m very tempted by the accordion… but I’m less than a dollar short (after tax) to get ButterSynth so I gotta pass on it lol
With the disclaimer that I already own a boatload of apps, I did also pick up a few more that I couldn't resist this BF/CM:
Hilda - It was on my wish list and the sale price was just too good! Still haven't played with it...
Hip Hop Drummer - I own most of the Lumbeat drummers but I think this is my new favorite of the bunch!
Grand Finale 2 - Again, great price...tried using it once and failed miserably. Apparently will need some time to research.
Hypertron - Pretty fun!
Riffler Flow - I was saving my money for Bleass Arp but am a big fan of the original Riffler and once I watched Jade Starr's overview, I decided I had to have it. Sounds great!
I got BAM and Salome and King of Digital earlier in the month...
I may still pick up Bleass Arp and maybe even Phase Mutant as I really liked what that did to vocals in the demo video.
I might have an addiction.
I keep forgetting about Thump One. I am on the beta, abut definitely want too grab that too, at it’s regular pricing it’s only $3.99
I just did the math…. I’m 19 cents short 😂
Time to check down the back of the couch.
lol sad part is I have it in cash 😂
C’mon Bandcamp Friday 🤩
