Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Recording tails

I’m struggling to understand how to record tails of fx in LP. I have it set to do so in the Global clip settings, but it doesn’t seem to really work. I’ve been testing it recording audio inputs and tweaking the FX tails to see if I hear it when it loops around, but half the time it doesn’t work. How does the tail thing work?

If you show the track overview for the track, do the outro options appear? They should appear if the tail was captured?

@espiegel123 it shows up but there’s no tail when I go to edit the sample. Shouldn’t the final sample be more than the x bars that was recorded? When I export the sample, shouldn’t it also have the tail at the end?

The tail is not editable and won’t appear in the waveform display. The tail does not affect the official loop length as it comes after the loop. The tail is audio that happens after the loop.

  • My understanding is that there will be a refinement of how much tail is captured in the next update as the current version may not capture as much as one might like.

Ah. Good to know. My hope is that I can get it to capture full tails so that I can do quick arrangements and live jams with LP, but then export all the loops as recorded to my DAW.

Hopefully it'll be much better shortly. I'd love to get some audio from you, capturing the full tail, so I can add it to my tests, though (maybe record to a one shot, then export that audio to me? I'm [email protected])

Do you mean record what I’d like to be caught by LP, or record it in LP specifically?

  • The former - I’m just looking to increase my set of samples that I’m using to test against
