Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

I just hope its isn't as buggy/laggy/unresponsive as 11 is?.. Why I went back to Live 10..
Not live* until early 2024. I wonder if midi routing from plugins will finally be fixed.
Some good quality of life improvements here but not sure if enough compared to Bitwig
I like the look of some of those features, I wish they improved the support for video...
Lots of fun new stuff in the update, and the refreshed UI looks great too.
Sweet!
Yeah, it looks really good. I'm hoping to get in the public beta before too long.
Why do we need Live whatsoever (we with Mac computers)?
Logic Pro 10.8 is more than enough… A lot cheaper also…
Some great new midi features, ui mixer stuff, flatten and freeze are now one click, humanize. But still they are not addressing many if not all user requests from 10 years that would improve workflow. I just can't understand Ableton logic.
They always show up with new synth and call it a day, especially because this "upgrade" costs 190 euros or something like that
Ha ha, that interface functionality (hide/show (video 25 seconds in)) looks like Logic for iPad that so many people seems to hate, well at least on iPad (I don't).
Please don’t just troll this thread with this kind of thing. If you don’t use Live, then you probably don’t know what it does or doesn’t offer that Logic does or doesn’t. Do some research about what Live DOES offer and you might be surprised.
cuz some of cant stand LOGIC thats why
Only thing I liked on Ableton was clip launching and never understood why people use it for timeline (Arrangement view) instead for almost any other DAW
But this update looks solid , focusing on workflow improvements (which is what matters most)
Plus integration with hardware, MAX, etc.
For me because of the way the arrangement timeline is linked to the session view, if you just wanted a fixed timeline without the session view, I can see why people wouldn't want to use Live though.
You don’t have to use session view at all, if you don’t want to. You can only use arrangement view and it behaves just like any DAW. The only difference has been that you had to flip back to session view to see your faders, but that is no longer the case with Live 12.
My main midi controller is a Novation SL MKIII, which plays beautifully with Ableton, so it's my DAW of choice in the studio.
So they’re going from 11.3 - > 12? I was hoping for more incremental improvements w/o ponying up for another upgrade fee.
It’s three years since 11.
Yes, they had plenty of time…
I’m sure I will upgrade at some point, but it’s nice to get thrown a bone once in a while.
I think if you go back and look at what they’ve added between 11.0 and 11.3, you’ll be amazed at how much has been added. It’s just been so long that a lot of those things you didn’t realize have been added for free in the 11.X train.
+1 @ErrkaPetti Grow up, don't act like a child!
I thought 11.3 was buggy for me, and rolled back to 11.2. Maybe the latest is ok?

Here are all of the things that have been added to, or fixed in Live 11 since it was released:

Does not seem worth it for around 200USD upgrade. Looks like a rip off update
Most UI features should have been there is first place
nothing to look forward with the synth
Disclaimer: I haven’t tested the public beta
Because some of us prefer it?
I like Logic for some things but Live has always been intuitive to me, while Logic has not.
Here's a list of all the features and improvements:

Because some people (quite a lot—including many pros) prefer Live.
How many plug in can you use with Ableton Live Lite?
I have a basic version of Bitwig and it's 2.
There's no limit, other than you get less included Ableton plug ins with Lite. Here's the full run down:
