Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like the matte finish on newer iPhones?

I get it resists finger prints, but I find it’s ten times more slippery than the glossy backs and side rails. Maybe it just because I live somewhere super dry….

  • My phones always go into a case to prevent damage from drops, so the finish is irrelevant to me.

I always put my iphones and ipads in cases to improve the grip and cushion the inevitable falls. Thankfully Apple has hardened the glass and cracked screens seem to be a thing of the past for me.

  • I’m interested in buying a 15ProMax (coming from a XSMax), but it won’t be in stock in the UK till end of November, last I checked. Would be very interested in your, or anyone else’s opinions on these new phones.

I’ve heard they have issues with:-
. WiFi connectivity (eg short range, slow+inconsistent connection, esp with wifi6)
. Screen scratching easily, even when well taken care (due to different type of screen apparently)
. Backplate shattering easily (due to a space/gap in the centre)
    . Overheating

What I’m most concerned about is the WiFi connectivity, and especially the screen scratching - I absolutely hate putting on screen protectors (I always get bubbles, dirt/dust always gets underneath, glue on screen when removing, etc). My XSMax hasn’t got a single scratch on it, some 5years later, but there are reports from similar peeps (never had a scratch on their old phone, having unknown scratches after a few days of careful use with the 15).

Re your original post: Torras do various thickness of cases, that users say are v.good, I like the slimmer ones, but they all have good reviews on Amazon & apparently make it easier to grip. Thanks for reading, wishing you all the best 😺

I have to agree, the finish is irrelevant dude; you need a case for that little computer !

[Side note: guy at the Apple Store told me the best bang for your buck is the iPhone13 , to the person who asked which one to get, he said the processor is really incredible but it’s not as expensive as the 14, def not as much as 15, if that helps anyone , I wanted to trade up but they aren’t giving enough, so if anyone sees any promos on trade in please post]

    PS (inta min wen?)

  • I prefer not to use cases most of the time as I prefer the way the phone feels without one, never dropped a phone and am always super careful about it. I only use a case when I'm going backpacking or some other active sport I'll be using my phone a lot.

@gdog I have had none of those issues with my iPhone 15 Pro, the wifi has been just fine and no scratches on the screen despite it being in my pocket on quite a few mountain bike rides.

I used to be in the "Huge construction site-type case" camp, but have completely left that behind since around 2018 and not regretting it.

Yes, my phone has a few dings and scratches (so do I!), but it's just how life works. Nothing lasts forever! 😉 and the improvement in usability from the more responsive screen to the lighter weight and better fiddleability in your hands is well worth it. And it also looks better 😉

Another case for cases used to be their water-proofness -- but since all modern iPhones are themselves water-proof already, that's also a moot point.

  • Yeah, once I realized how much stronger the new materials are on the last few generations I was less worried about it. Also, Apple is extremely lenient with determining damage when trading in your phone, so I don't need it to be pristine like I thought I did.

Anyway, case or no case is besides the point, we can start another topic about that if people want to discuss.

    Back to.... matte or glossy?

But what about a hard drop or a screen crack? You know? I mean don’t get the otter ox or the huge construction one, but don’t leave that beautiful machine exposed to accidents! Anyway my 2 cents; but to answer Tarek OP, yes the slide away is problematic , slid right out of my pocket onto the floor (hence my case)

I only have one accidental drop from a significant height onto a hard surface once every 3-4 years, so I simply consider this in the overall cost/mishap calculation 😂 but maybe I'm unreasonably non-clumsy!

And if one is looking to save a little money and still get Apple's quality control check and a new replacement battery for a used device, check out the refurbished devices on Apple's web site.

I love the new Pros. I got one on release day, it's the first 'Pro' I've wanted. The previous ones felt too heavy. The new ones are just right. I usually go careless (my old 11 is well battle scarred, but not cracked!) but will keep a case on for a good while... but eventually I'll go careless again, feels so much better without a case.

And the cameras. Wow. Huge jump from my old 11. The 5x Tele is fantastic. Luckily I get to buy on the business so get the VAT back. Would be keeping my 11 for another year or more if I had to get one personally.
