Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Interesting question, I also hope for an answer. I found some Satechi and PremiumCord dongles but their USB-C is only for charging. Now I'm using this 4-port Belkin
https://www.belkin.com/uk/usb-c-to-4-port-usb-c-hub/AVC018btBK.html + original Apple USB-C to audio converter.
So midi controller into the usb port here and then headphones - aux to usb c adapter - and then into this as well?
@HotStrange
3 USB-C Belkin ports are for data only, one is for data and PD charging. Small white brick is USB-A to USB-C adapter.
☝ as @filo01 says just use the Apple 3.5mm to USB-C into any hub you like. If need be you can plug the dongle into a USB-C to USB-A adapter to use it with a USB-A hub.
Appreciate the help. Hard to imagine someone hasn’t made a simple dongle with just those two jacks but maybe not? It is a bit crazy to think you’d need up to three converting pieces just to get the functionality of the old iPads back…
Okay great. I already have the dongle (and a usb hub) I just need to get a new midi controller since mine broke. So with that I should be able to use the keyboard and headphones together yeah?
Thanks!
Yes that will work.
Fantastic. Much appreciated.
