Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Vintage V74 ICON Fretless Bass - It's a Beautiful Thing

I reached out to Vintage and asked them if it would be possible to send me their Vintage Fretless Bass.
I wanted to make some video with the bass going through various iOS effects.
For this video, I chose FAC Chorus, Blackhole and Other Desert Cities.
And it sounds fantastic.
I hope you enjoy the video.

  • Would like to see more hardware reviews and demos from you, Doug. These are fun.

  • oh yes, a fretless bass. I was on the lookout for one, but they are rather on the expensive side. And I’m not a bass player.

This Vintage fretless bass sounds and looks beautiful.

This luthier often sells fretless basses for $200 plus shipping. I have three of his basses:

The fit and finish is rough and basic, and he uses the cheapest tuners, strings, and pickups he can find. These basses are for people who like rough but experienced hand-made craftsmanship, or who recognize the quality bones and are willing to polish it into a thoroughbred themselves. I'm in the first category.

  • I don’t pick up my fretted bass often enough to justify buying a fretless one, but I have thought about it often.

@NeuM I do make hardware video’s every now and then.
I do have another couple of guitar ones to make, one is for a super cheap strat that Donner sent me, that guitar is really good for the price.
And another for the Joyo Infinite Sustainer, that’s like the Ebow.
I used that a lot when making my Spectral Guitars Pack for Koala.

Squire modified jazz is very affordable, plays, sounds and looks great.
I do periodic minor bridge adjustments to mine to keep the action nice and low with minimal to no fret buzz.

Fret buzz on a fretless can be so hard to get rid of!
