Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Eliminating Ext Mic input

Hi. For some reason beyond my ability to troubleshoot, as soon as I add an effect to audiobus, stomp box for example, I can hear iPads internal mic along with what I have set as input, such as Electribe. How do,I eliminate the mic input?

  • Do you have an output app connected? Try the "Speaker Output" app in Audiobus and see if this corrects the problem for you.

Another tip is to properly close any apps no longer in the Audiobus chain. If memory serves, JamUp (as an example) starts reading mic input as soon as it's out of the chain.

  • As Michael says, this can happen with any effects that use live audio - managed to blast everybody with a dose of squelch when I left Glitch1 running after demoing it in the effects slot. (In this case I neglected to 'pause' Glitch1...)
