Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Zn+1 = Zn2 + C (Ambient/TC-11/ Music Video)

edited September 2023 in Creations

This is a merge of two /TC-11/ improv recordings. Please use headphones when listening.

I separated the stereo channels in /Auditor/ and thus got four different audio tracks to lay effects on in post using /AUM/. I used /Moogerfoogers/, /Cascade/, /Timeless 3/ and /Korvpressor/.
/Magic Death Eye Stereo/ compressor on the master track.
Video consist of a series of fractal stills (hence the title) I made over the years on the iPad using apps like /Fractal Architect/ and /Fraksl/. I've tried to add motion in various ways using After Effects, Vanilla on my Mac Mini M1. There are also some short clips from Freepik.com blended in here and there. It is a bit long but I hope you can relax for eight minutes 😁

  • Very relaxing piece indeed. I like the fact there is no real tonal center, it keeps evolving all along. I am sure you put a lot of time in the video too. Great work!

  • Lovely to listen to and look at, a relaxing treat for the end of my day.

Thank you, not sure what tonal center means, I did try jamming with a guitar (TC-11 is set too D# minor) but it got a bit too dominant. Very fun though.😊🎸

    Thank you so much!😀

  • I listened a few times, it was magical, like those fractals started to sing. I like it very much. I've been a fractalnaut since the start of my computer career (Zilog Z80 calculated one frame per day). For me, just a slide show of those fractal images would be enough, but you did a fantastic job with animation and fx. 🤩

Of course this is the interative function which is the basis of the Julia/Mandelbrot set. Nice! :#

Wow! I think that's one of the nicest 'reviews' I've ever got, I really appreciate it .. a lot!
I have become a little bit tired of fractals as I was obsessed a few years since I got my first iDevice (iPhone 5s) not that long ago (5-6 years). Fractal Architects flame fractals are really cool but the dev seem to have abandoned the iOS version. I have JWildfire but there's something about it not clicking with me. Frax is awesome but too obvious somehow. I know I'll revisit soon enough.😁

Oh yeah, forgot to mention I love the track - a brittle, shimmering, crystalline fractured soundscape, which wonderfully evokes the fractal chaos at the boundary where the iterative function converges/diverges. I started geeking out on the maths and forgot to mention the track :#

My interest in fractals went into stasis around ‘electric sheep’ time. But that's normal; every 3–4 years, interest in fractals grows again. My bookmark page will tell you where it stayed.

New exciting times are coming, where we will be able to animate those 3D fractalscapes in real time with our own interpretations. Freaking exciting. 😅

Do you know about Julius Horsthuis? He uses Mandelbub 3D for video creations.

Edit: removed screenshot, it was too intrusive. Sorry!

I had not, pretty neat stuff. I've seen a few exceptional ones at Fractalgasm(FB) before it went sideways. Ha, Electric Sheep had been dead a while when my interest was awaken. Yeah, I expect it to be so with all new tech/solutions coming with AI, whatnot. :) I tried Mandelbulb but do not have the fierce computer needed for it. Thanks for the input, fun stuff. 😃

  • What a trip - sonically and visually! Really enjoyed that.

It’s Sunday here. Day of rest, and I’m doing just that. I have all the time in the world. This is very cool. I don’t get high anymore, but if I did… Seriously, this is very pleasant to listen to… and watch. Nice work… or play… however you see it.

Thank you gentlemen, well appreciated! 😊

  • REALLY great @Pxlhg, both the audio and the visuals. The audio reminds me a little bit of the Solaris (Soderberg version) soundtrack

Thanks Gav! That's quite the comparison and It's not in that class but, I take it and I live on it for a few days ..😂

Haha! Love that version of the movie, and definitely one of my favourite Sci Fi scores
