We are thrilled to announce Exquis, our hex-key MPE controller has been crows as the Commercial Hardware product of the year at the MIDI Innovation Awards!

Exquis is an MPE + CV controller and an app. Together they form a new electronic instrument: expressive, intuitive and modular, for music beginners as well as professionals.

On Saturday, September 16, 2023, Intuitive Instruments Exquis achieved a momentous feat by clinching the prestigious MIDI Innovation Award in the coveted “Commercial Hardware Products” category. This international recognition is a moment of immense pride for the music technology industry, and this year it celebrates the result of 15 years of work by the Intuitive Instruments team in designing intuitive and expressive instruments.

This 2023 edition of the MIDI Innovation Awards was judged by an all-star jury composed of Roger Linn, Nina Richards, Bian Liunian, Pedro Eustache, Jean-Michel Jarre, and Michele Darling.
The jury has emphasized the expressive capabilities of Exquis’ keys, recognizing this as the future of electronic musical instruments.
Also, underscoring Exquis’ audacious and distinctive hexagonal keyboard, Roger Linn highlighted Intuitive Instruments’ effort to offer an alternative keyboard to that of the piano, arguing that, just like with his LinnStrument, he too seeks to demonstrate that the piano keyboard is not the best interface for playing expressive music and that it is necessary to shake things up.
