Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

  • A really fun 🤩 thing to do is to send a generative node sequencing to a midi fx node that’s running Mozaic and using one of the gazillion free midi fx Mozaic scripts out there.. and send the midi fx node back to the generative node.

This is VERY easy and intuitive to do. You could likely figure out the setup in a minute without even looking 👀 at a tutorial or manual.

Easy-peasy and vast varieties of generative compositions.

Might be worth it for the generative node feature alone! :)

  • I don’t quite understand the 8 scene limit. Does that mean I can only sequence 8 scenes/snapshots of nodes? If so it would be quite limited in terms of playing out a full track right?
I understand it’s a groovebox but it looks quite appealing as an all rounder.

  • You have 8 scene for each node, that can be conbined into the 8 main scenes....it's a lot of possible combinations.
Eventually I can add more...but I suppose this is enough. In the beta test noone complains about this, but I'm ready to change this if there's a popular demand.
Also each node has probability and frequency (among other parameters) that allow complexity and originality without the need to change scene.

  • Sounds like a great sequencer! Looking forward to trying it out. Will all the node scenes and main scenes be accessible for triggering via midi parameters in other hosts like Loopy Pro?

Currently they can be mapped via MIDI learn in the standalone version. But I can include this feature in the AU3 version too...or at least expose them as parameters

Will there be an option to change the layout to squares?
I really would prefer more manly squares then those circly circles.
    😎

  • Awesome. Congratulations @ElliottGarage on the upcoming release! Looks exciting.

  • Best type of app to come out since dRambo

    Really amazing

Congratulations and thanks for allowing me to view something amazing in development

What a talent Elliott garage is

  • I preordered and I still don’t even know what it really is… lol

It’s like Drambo, the Bud/Rozeta apps, and AUM had a baby together (somehow lol).

It’s a host but with automation, a handful of various sequencers, clip launching and pattern chaining, and best of all a super quick and intuitive workflow with a unique approach.

Yes, please! The more exposable parameters, the better - for me, anyway 😃

@ElliottGarage how will the Midi clock work? I mostly play "hybrid" with both software and hardware. Sadly most host apps start and stop the clock with the transport. This is tricky for hardware that needs a short time to lock onto the clock. I would appreciate a continuous SYSRT-CLOCK stream with the transport control only sending START, STOP and probably CONTINUE, but no interruptions.

I'm curious, does anyone know whether:

    • nodes supports the sidechaining capabilities of AU's like compressors etc..
    • nodes supports multi-core processing?

    anyone?

    Yes it does SC
( :lol And Multi core processing ??????? )

    thank you sir

  • wait...sidechain is not there yet (I'll probably work on it after the release).
And about multi-core processing, I really don't know how the app would benefit from it for how it's designed ... anyway some beta testers stressed it with complex and hi-load audio unit and they reported a good preformance.

  • Will this run on Apple Silicon Macs? Those AU sequencers would be fantastic in Ableton.

  • C a n I say Y e s ?

  • Looking forward to using this. Not much of a pre-order type but Doug’s video convinced me to. Looks great.

  • @ElliottGarage, has Nodes got a manual and if so, is there any chance you could make that available pre release? I’d like to know in greater detail what it offers before deciding whether to grab it at its pre-order price.

  • What will be the price after the launch? I'm very interested but right now there is out just a video from Doug and I would like to know more before buying.

  • @unlink I don’t know if the price will change after the Pre-Order

Like ... modstep? Probably with some Rozetta stuff or so

    @Robin2 it's an intro price

Do we get this only by pre-ordering?
Or will the intro price be available after it's released?

No one seems interested to reply to me about recording and playback of MPE midi clips... but what the hell, I'll try again.

Any thoughts on this @ElliottGarage ? Anyone?

Here I am...at the moment MPE is not supported, if you'd like please write me at [email protected] how would you like to use the feature in a host/sequencer app :)

My understanding us that this is a midi sequencing/recording/clip launching app at its core? I’d like to be able to record and launch clips that use MPE. I believe Midi Tape Recorder is open source. Perhaps you could borrow his code?

I’d also really like to have audio clips.

I’m old enough to remember when web designers were excited to finally be able to put rounded corners on a square. It was a big deal!

EG Segments… Or sEGments.. Will be interesting to see how it ties in and improvements..

I’m old enough to remember when graphic designers were excited to get a sharp enough pair of scissors to cut out perfect round corners on paper before their designs were photographed.

I'm old enough to remember when they put circles INSIDE of squares and called them floppy disks.
    Crazy times ... 🎅🏼
