Just discovered Audioshare doesn’t allow Airpod playback controls

Am I missing something? In literally every other app on my iPhone that has audio playback and be controlled using the Airpod playback shortcuts (clicking airpod to play or pause) is this just the way it is or is there something I need to fix in the app/phone settings?
