Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Any other expats from major social networks starting with R or T, I mean X? Where do you hang out? ?

So I could tell my own story but even I ain’t interested
Where do kind people hang around these days?
Cause I moved away from these sites but I feel the need to talk to similar minded individuals, except I don’t want to impose on this forum, which has given us so much already

I got rid of them all; this is where I hang out (used to be dRambo forum but gravitas helped me graduate  )

  • I’ve been lurking on Mastodon for a little while. It seems okay. You have a lot of control over your timeline.

  • Music forums and sometimes Reddit because that’s the best place for me to get info on my local town.

  • I was on reddit since there weren’t even subreddits. Nowadays I can’t f***ing stomach it. Killing apollo and similar apps for the sleazy money grabbing killed it for me, for good

  • But I miss a place to ask questions (and have them answered)

  • Don’t want to turn this forum into my support group (although it might be late for that 😅)

Btw, I was trying to be funny, with the title, was going to end with “is it any good?”, but either the forum or my phone put an end to it. For the greater good.

  • Expat of X. Too dramatic. This forum is where I talk to likeminded folks. Facebook Messenger is the only other place.

  • I’ve started using RSS again. Unread App has a very generous premium model, where they have a server sync between iOS devices. No desktop version. I even have an RSS feed for the audiobus forums. I have RSS feeds for subreddits, YouTube channels, and substacks.

  • I can't do social media. This is the only forum I've ever survived without getting mobbed more than once or twice. Thank you for your tolerance!

  • Whatever happened to bulletin board services?

    Prolly a really unpopular opinion:

The people that left X were the people that ruined it. Y’all were in control, and could have stood your ground and kept doing what you were doing but “muh insert belief here”, or “f’in Elon” made everyone scamper.

also I dunno what everyone thought was gonna happen when shareholders forced the sale after he said he was backing out. could have just let him go, but nope…..it’s no longer elons fault here….

Still a thing along with Usenet/newsgroups.

I switched to feedly when google nuked reader. I still love rss feeds, best way to consume news, still, imo.
But are there any feeds you (or anyone else) recommends? I know all the obvious ones… and I have a link somewhere where you can get a feed from non rss enabled sites

These people are all on bluesky and they’re much less annoying there.

They’d been super annoying before he arrived, so this twitter divorce was in everyone’s best interest. It’s also been hard on right-wing trolls on X. With nobody around to troll anymore, their attempts at triggering fall on def ears. It’s kind of a rule on Bluesky not to bring shit over from twitter, everyone there seems actually focused on mental health, toning down the thing of keeping up maximum anger 24/7. Even Elon is a bit of a taboo, his trump thing of being obnoxious all the time to get press has tired everyone out.

And… Elon has been n00bing it up running the thing, I wouldn’t go there unprompted but you brought it up. Blaming his bumbling childish behavior on shareholders is weird. He’s not an adult?

He backed out. Shareholders forced the sale.
Cause his price was too good.

i have no skin in this game. it was a shitshow before him, its a shitshow after him.
I dunno if I'd call what elon is 'noobing it up' his 44B is pocket change and he just has the equivalent of a model plane he just crashed. he can buy another, or just throw it in the trash.

playing chicken with someone w/ that much loot? everyone is gonna lose.

I signed up for an invite but haven’t gotten an answer yet, if anyone has a spare one I’d love to try it out. The “X” thing was about the dumbest move ever, on every possible level. I need to leave that place. I loved Twitter and now it’s 💩

Me, I left Twitter long before Elon took over because of idiots like that. The whole "cancel culture" aspect of Twitter society was just too much, because if you don't conform 100% to the "hive mind", people will become "oh so offended" and treat you like shit.

My unpopular opinion - Elon did Twitter a favour. Sure he's an irritating manchild, but he scattered the roaches didn't he? 🤣

It would be so cool to actually know people nearby in meatspace with the same interests. It was a bounty of riches when I was younger before my twenties in my home town but the older I get the more diluted meatspace gets and the more people just hang with other people who have kids and I dont have any. I have two friends about an hour or two away I meet once or twice a year for lunch. Aside from that pretty much zero real social life. Pathetic!

Online doesn't count for shit and social media stinks. This is the only place I occasionally chatter. Every few months I get desperate and chat someone up on discord but its like eating cardboard.

This is why I live Downtown. It's central to everything, including friends in the meatspace. Sure "online friends are real friends too", yada yada, but it doesn't beat hanging out in real life.

Not gonna bother with that sort, thanks. 😉

  • I can remember online places also having meatspaces. When I had a monome and was on monome dot org, there were monomeets. I went once to one held in Princeton, NJ. It was cool. I didn’t expect a member to fly in from overseas, and Daedalus was there too.
I know it’s hard to do with larger communities, but even on Ableton forum, 10-15 years ago, I went to something in Neptune, NJ. If I I’m not mistaken, @johnfromberkeley or maybe it was @Tarekith who was there. ??

i used to post regularly on a handful of forums, was great to be a part of those small, like-minded communities

I use Twitter and Reddit but it really isn't the same thing

audiobus is one of the last remaining forums I regularly check. very grateful for the site and the members
