Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

If it’s like GarageBand it’ll be every time there’s a new iOS update. So maybe in a month or so?
Maybe coinciding with the iOS 17 release?
Hopefully sooner rather than later. 😅 Remaining cautiously optimistic.
Maybe they’re already pulling the plug cause everyone returned their subscriptions? 🙃
I highly doubt it. Apple were more like "okay musicians stop whinging. Here's a watered down version of Logic to placate you. Happy?" 😂🤣
ftfy, lol.
😂😂🤣💀
I certainly did and don't think I'll sub again til there's a major update. I'm in the Dendy camp, too much not to like about the release version, and I don't really need it. Aum for the win, suits my personal needs much much better.
@Halftone and @NeuM : Good points. Never thought of it coinciding w the updates
I don't worry about it because I subbed for a year. I don't like a lot of things about its first iteration, but it has unique features and tools you can’t find anywhere else. It's exciting to wait for the update, which will undoubtedly be monumental.
I've used it to record, mix and master three songs from start to finish. There are frustrations and I can't wait to see these sorted but it's 90% good, entirely usable and by a long way the best linear daw on iOS even in its present 1.0 form.
As an aside, I'd love a long overdue update for Cubasis as well.
It’s no secret I’m not a fan of logic. Not on desktop or back to their eMagic days.
I say park that shit right next to Aperture.
+1 from me.
AUM is definitely my go to but I am warming up to Logic for mixing/mastering stems, and it’s not terrible as a clip launcher either. I think there are definitely some positives. Sculpture, the vintage instruments, studio horns/strings, Amp Designer, synth drum designer, etc. But there’s also a lot I don’t jive with and needs some serious improvement. I’m hoping there’s an update coming. Usually by now most devs would’ve issued at least an update for some big fixes and small things like that.
This thread is in the wrong forum category.
From Apples developer guide to subscription apps:
Great subscription apps justify the recurring payment by providing ongoing value and continually innovating the app experience. If you’re considering implementing the subscription model, plan to regularly update your app with feature enhancements or expanded content.
Lol
LOL!
Indeed and yesterday there was a quite long 'server outage' over at Apple which made launching Logic Pro for iPad with wi-fi turned on close to impossible (the connection attempts didn't even time-out and my router-logs are full trances of the connection attempts). The work-around was to cut the wi-fi, launch the app and turn wi-fi on again...
I thought a multi-billion dollar company would at least have a little bit of redundancy?!
Good I missed that bullet, last time I used LP4iOS was on 21.08. 😅
BTW, iCloud is not just Apple based, in some regions it is shared with Google Cloud and Amazon S3.
I don't want a typical "continous updating model" that is typical in the cheap app model nowadays.
I've never been more productive musically. 10 completed songs (with vocals) in 3 months. It's way better than any other iOS DAW, no contest. And for what I do, it's way quicker than any other workflow.
So, who is going to start the inevitable "Is Logic Pro Abandonware?" thread...?
Or the 'Is Logic Pro the Quim Barreiros of the app world' thread 😂
Is Logic Pro a genius?
Gratz! Can't wait to listen to new songs! 🤩
👍👍👍🎶🎶🎶😎😎😎
Hey thanks
I'll be posting a couple soon, and there's also a collab with Jankun that's almost done. The others have already been posted and can be found on my SoundCloud (I think one is on Jankun's SC).
This was definitely NOT iCloud related in this case as all other apps using iCloud worked as expected
All I could see was that it was the function that looks for new sound-packs that malfunctioned as I was also able to get GarageBand to 'lock up' when checking out the sound packs, again disabling wi-fi got me out of the loop....
Possibly also they are using undocumented audio API and plan to switch to the proper ones when iPadOS 17 ships.
Sorry, you said 'server outage' and I jumped to conclusion, but everything I stated is still true in different contexts. Thanks for info on how to counteract those possible malfunctions. 😅
