Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

My bm2's sampler is syncing tempo

edited September 2014 in General App Discussion

I don't understand why I can't sync my samples in bm2. I have samples in 135bpm and for some reason they're not going to 140 which is the tempo of the song when I try to do so. The samples would be in sinc for like the first few seconds and then it would go all out of touch with the mn ticks. Can anyone provide help. Maybe some of you have had the same issues. Please guys, holler back!

  • If I am understanding your Q. You would have to timestretch all the samples from 135bpm to 140bpm for them to sound right at 140. It is fiddly as you have to process samples one by one but you can do this in BM by editing each sample entering 135 as the sample tempo and 140 in other box

  • yes, I know and that's what i have been trying to do but it seems like there is something wrong maybe i'm missing something. I hit up the time stretch screen and it does it's little percentage count. and the sample still does not match. Do you have bm2? is it that simple for you to change bpm's or am I not doing a step properly/at all?

I'm afraid i'm somewhat of a producer noob so don't assume I know much about this stuff. i'm not really concerned with the pitch, I can tweak that later. but if I don't get over this hump, how can i then take my sampling game to a new level.

  • Just as a test of the source samples: if you set the project to 135bpm and trigger them, do they stay in time with the project tempo?

  • After you have stretched the sample go into the bpm tab of the sample edit page and change the sec/bpm ruler so its on bpm. Do the bars line up with the transients? Also put on the metronome and trigger the sample does the tick line up with the sounds?

  • Sebastian was telling me that in order to match the tempo it must be done in the sample editor. I'm assuming not the chop lab which is what I was doing. If so then why have the time stretch and pitch shift in the chop lab. Thanks guys really appreciate the help
