Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.Download on the App Store
Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
How are you guys changing presets etc for different songs, live, in Loopy Pro?
I'm trying to make a practical setup for live stuff, one-man band sorta deal.
Drums, bass, pads, synths, keys etc all through Loopy Pro.. same with my acoustic guitar + mic.
I'm setting it up so everything works how I want, but it just entered my mind, what happens when I change songs?
Nobody will want to wait around while I fumble through a variety of synth apps or whatever and presets etc..
How are you guys going about quick song changes?
Do I create a whole new Loopy Pro template for each different song? Will it remember the presets for the apps that are in it?
I understand these threads are annoying but I do have to ask them and think these things out before I can really take a venues money for the gigs. I'm already an actively gigging musician (solo acoustic - no loops, no pedals.. just voice and a guitar), and I will be taking the iPad and LP to gigs.
Not every song warrants the same exact sounds though.
For some reason, it feels weird to approach it the same way as an acoustic guitar.. with that, I've got no problem playing the same guitar for 4hrs straight and singing.
But with drums, bass, synths, keys etc.. I don't want to always be using the same sounds, and I also don't want to be wasting time looking through them either.
Perhaps an option is to just have some buttons set up in LP for quick switches to different types of pads or leads.. so I could maybe have 2-3 choices per instrument, that I switch between at will at gigs..
If there's a better way to change song patches or whatever live at gigs, I'd love to hear it.
Gotta keep in mind the live aspect, I'm not being paid to sit there and look through presets or mess around with things. Needs to be very quick and intuitive, something I can do on the fly - no menu diving.
