Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Simplest auv3 loader

It's probably AUM but if there was something that I could open, load the plugin and hit play to record into the app that would be super. Any apps I'm missing. I think the Nembrini one is (a) for Nembrini plugins and (b) has no standalone (maybe). Thanks for any ideas.

Comments

  • Loopy Pro

  • AUv3 capable hosts that record? AUM, Loopy Pro, the usual list of traditional DAW’s (Cubasis 2/3, Audio Evolution Mobile Studio).

Nembrini is a Guitar Amp modeler that supports AUv3 FX in addition to its arsenal of guitar stomp boxes that are sold alone and in clusters. Simple for guitarists.

Simple is always determined by the user.

    Record audo, midi, or both?

    Just audio.

Nembrini would be perfect if it could load auv3

  • I checked to see if “AuHost” records. Nope.

For me Simple also means just works… so AUM or Loopy Pro for me.

Nembrini doesn't record and doesn't host AUv3's. So, Loopy Pro is the best answer I can think of. It has way more capabilities than you asked for, but can be as simple as you like. As an added bonus, once you have it set up you can save templates and create new sessions with two taps.

I can't think of anything simpler that can host AUv3's.

I can't find that one on the App store. Maybe not available here.

  • AuHost with Neon Audio Editor ($9 on sale this weekend).> @Ailerom said:

Sorry… purchased and still on my iPad but no longer available. It was bare bones and probably full of bugs. It has slots for up to 3 AUv3 FX’es and only outputs to standard audio out (which for me would be the headphones). I was hoping it had a record feature just to meet the minimum requirements for the OP but there would be more needs once the minimum was met.

Much better to just pick a host with a good set of features and a future of support.

AUM will have to do. I tried Loopy and it's a beast but I just want simplicity.

  • Maybe AUSH which is free currently but no audio export. Maybe Sand… maybe audiobus 3.

    Audiobus 3 doesn’t record.

Thanks, just gave them all a go but AUM is still the best one.

Yea true, but you can put something in there like 4P multitrack Recorder, neon, auditor, even cubasis 2 as an output. However that starts getting Into more complex territory, not the simple solution @Ailerom was looking for…
