Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Which ios synth has the best mpe presets right out of the box?

Which ios synth has the best mpe presets right out of the box?

This came up years ago, but is worth asking again.

I'm thinking in terms of something like equator on desktop where you have a ton of presets that take full advantage of all 5 aspects of mpe. Most mpe synth presets are missing note velocity off. Some have pressure mappings some not etc etc. The great thing is thing about Equator or Plasmonic is that all or almost all mpe presets use all 5.

With something like Phosphor 3 you only even know by trial and error which ones are mpe, and how complete an implementation they are, because mpe presets are not even marked as such. Would have been great if they'd added a tagging system allowing you to easily find mpe presets among the factory and designer presets.

  • It's hard to say, I think none of them tick all boxes. I found when I wanna play MPE most of the time it is Animoog.

  • Roli Noise imo

  • BLEASS Alpha?

  • ID700 doesn’t have many, but the ones it does have are choice. I’m leaning towards seeing each patch as an instrument. I just need one good patch to make a synth worthwhile, because there is not time enough to practice playing all of them.

  • FF Volcano.

Not a synth and not mpe 😂

    I know. Sorry.

  • Hi Gav, I don’t have any mpe device for evaluating how good they are in taking advantage of the technology but Magellan 2 has an iap preset bank ‘MagTOUCH & Mpe’ with 63 presets.

Thnx! I think I remember that maybe that synth doesn't do note velocity off messages but can't remember, been years since I used it. Cheers tho, worth a look again 🙏

  • I’d second @gdog ’s Roli Noise suggestion.
Also what about DRC? Not sure if it satisfies all your criteria though 🤨

Animoog z with the expansions. Guess that’s not technically right out of the box, but there is a free one and they’re really really good. Animoog is about the only mpe thing i use. The others just don’t sound as expressive

Yeah, I got a few of those expansions, absolutely incredible

What expansions do you especially like for MPE? Curious to know which to try first.
