Help! Audiobus not recognising Photon X25 audio interface
Trying to use Photon X25 connected to iPad via usb. Audiobus recognises my Photon X 25’s MIDI output but not the audio interface. I expected to see it in the audio ‘system’ tab but only find the iPad mic. Many folk seem to be using an X25 with no problem. What am I doing wrong?

Audiobus will see whatever the OS sees. My guess is that if it isn't showing up in Audiobus that nothing on your iPad is seeing it. Try another host.
Try disconnecting it and everything else connected to the iPad, powering down, powering back up and after you are logged in to the iPad, connect it.
If that doesn't work, give more details including everything that is connected and what iPad you are using.
Thanks for your comment. Already tried powering down/up and have turned multi route audio on in Audiobus. I don’t have any other apps that will host audio (which is why I got Audiobus) so I can’t try another host. All my music apps, including Audiobus, recognise the Photon’s MIDI output so I guess the OS is seeing the device but not the audio which should be travelling on the same usb cable. Currently I only have the Photon connected via a USB adapter to the iPad. Don’t understand how the system can recognise MIDI but not audio from the same hardware on the same cable.
Are you sure that the Photon's audio driver is class-compliant?
Perhaps there are settings on the photon that need to be set for the iPad to see it.
What kind of iPad are you using? Are you providing power to the Apple USB adapter?
That was going to be my question too, and a quick check online shows that it is.
Maybe it’s in need of a firmware upgrade? Have you checked to see if there is one you haven’t installed yet?
MIDI and audio use different USB Profiles. It's effectively two devices sharing the same cable. And if the audio device is not "class-compliant", iOS cannot use its standard profile to communicate with it.

I found an old post that confirms it should work with iOS but that it needs external or battery power, not just power from the USB connection.

Also, are you connecting through the official Apple CCK, or some third party adapter?
The manual also mentions that it should be connected directly and not through a hub. At least with a computer anyway.
I think Michael-m might have got it right. I haven’t upgraded the firmware in the Photon. This would be a headache for a number of reasons I won’t go into here; so I’m going to treat myself to a Behringer Ufo202 which is more compact than the bulky X25. Thanks for the help.
