Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

  • Brilliant. Thanks for organising this. I’m off for a week travelling and will get this done when I get back.

  • @DavidEnglish @Moderndaycompiler Your names have been added to the timecode split!! Please check the Google sheets linked in the Original post and I hope you will answer this call to arms!!!

@Krupa : that sounds like a course I wish I’d taken! ‘The Art & Architecture of the Hindu Temple’ had its moments (if by that you meant access to the restricted pornographic carvings held at the British Museum), but on the whole, I would have preferred German Expressionism , I think…

LOL, but indeed, the rather... casual approach seen on the side carvings of the Khajuraho temples immediately puts into perspective for a European tourist the medieval Christian approach of "let's put a skirt on the piano's legs". It's pretty remarkable and scary to realise what sort of bigotry forms a part of our continent's cultural heritage. /offtopic

  • Look what I found on my shelf last night 😄

    🙌

  • I finished my bit a few weeks ago. Just waiting for the folks either side to confirm the start and end fits with what they intend to do. 😉

  • Nice to see it’s going! Just a remainder: would be great if submissions follow the same technical specs as with Vampyr project.

  • edited March 2023

I don't know what this means (same tech specs?).

I've got 3 and a half min from 5 and a half, so it's still two more to do. Quite pleased with the results so far. I think my part could be ready by middle or end of next week. The last bit is quite a challenge as it's the best scene and needs the most intense piece of music, but I'll get there.

  • I’d better start mine… keep getting distracted 🤨

Archive at 48khz, 24 bit preferred, uncompressed format (.wav, .aiff). mix for master level peaking at about -12 dB. Don’t do any master limiting or compressing unless is a creative part of the composition. All that will make my job doing the final mixing and mastering easier! 🙏🏻🤩

oh, my master chain is pretty packed (only quality tools) and sounds great, will have to think about the -12 dB and maybe send you two versions then (?)

but thanks for letting me know

    Thanks Cabo,
is not only the tools, we have very different compositions, sounds, mixes, … part of the mastering the whole film is homogenous all the submissions. That is not only frequency response but dynamic range, phase, stereo width,…Also, there is a mixing job need to be done for the film, following the flow of the scenes, and I need the most dinamic range, that’s why I call for no compressor or limiter.

  • Just a quick question. I’m in at 0.00.52.00. Is there silence before then?

  • Not sure who to ask @Krupa , @sevenape , @Svetlovska ? but how do we upload our stuff to the right area of drop box. I can’t see a way of creating a folder like Gavs. Apologies if I’m missing the bleedin obvious 🤨

Oh sorry Tony, I did see your message, just a bit crazy this week, I’ll send a link later, though there might already be one buried in this thread

  • No probs , no mad rush so take it easy 😊

  • I’ve just made folders for each contributor in the folder listed on the first post in this thread, fingers crossed you can each just copy your stuff into there without specific permissions 🤞🙏🙌

  • I'm very much looking forward to the premier. @Krupa are you not doing a bit for it? (also, your film studies course sounds a lot like mine, though we went from the German expressionism to Eisenstein and Vertov)

Ah nice, yeah, I loved that course, changed my life tbh

I'm not doing a piece this time, too many other contributors, though hopefully some will be using the samples I put in that pack...

  • The one down side to studying film is that once you learn about foreshadowing and signposting, you can't unlearn about foreshadowing and signposting.

  • That gun on the table in the first act…

  • So GeoTony just garnered himself access to the delivery folder using this link

    https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/td1ttbxbkn7ohbvxiei9a/h?dl=0&rlkey=pxu6v6fw774scidsm05ms3ue5

I'm not sure if they're time limited or something, so if you can be arsed, please log in now / soon so that when you are ready to deliver, you'll be able to do so without needing any help - do try to let someone on the team know so that we can add you to the 'done' pile....

  • I'm nearly done on my bit. Where do I upload it to and in what format?
