What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. So basically you are saying, knobcloud. Good. Good experiences no ripoffs or such? I was hesitating but your comment as a rocksolid member of this community… I will check it again :-)

Go ahead. :) I started using it on his advice given earlier here in the forum, and I have become a regular. Some of the deals are really good. Controlled payment and communications, seller and buyer history, smooth sailing. All the sellers I bought from were cooperative. I mean, apply the usual caution but that goes without saying.

Yeah, my experiences are very positive but I also had no conflict with sellers so far. Knobcloud recommends following their safety protocol for high-priced items. I did that when I bought my Bitwig license for 200 Euro and it worked well.

My experiences with Knobcloud have also been great. This is as a buyer only though.

    Arturia Minifreak by Arturia.

    https://www.arturia.com/products/software-instruments/minifreak-v/overview

Log into your Arturia account for the best price. On offer until February 2nd, 2023. There's also a very good price on a bundle deal with Arturia V Collection 9.

I found some lovely ambient friendly presets for Minifreak (hardware and software) here:
    https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/minifreak-spheres/

    They're demonstrated here:

That was an instabuy for me since I love my MicroFreak. The MiniFreak V does sound great and I'm using it in all my new tracks and jams.

BUT... there is a big BUT that all MicroFreak lovers should know. You simply can't transfer MicroFreak patches to the MiniFreak V. And I don't mean importing, loading, converting or anything like that. I mean you can't even transfer patches manually. The oscillator knobs are different. The Mini misses the Timbre knob. It also misses the wavetable and vocoder oscillators.

Moreover, the values of the knobs are different. The MicroFreak has absolute values, often in suitable units like Hz or seconds. The MiniFreak knobs always use a fixed value scale from 0-100. All of them. Yes, really. IMHO this is a significant drawback for sound design. C'mon Arturia, what were you smoking? LFO frequency 0-100??? ADSR times 0-100??? WTF. I hope a future update will fix that. But nonetheless, I love how it sounds.

I was just wondering about this!
I need to pull the trigger on the plugin version.
By chance, do you own both hardware Freaks?
    I just have the Micro.

I own the MicroFreak hardware and the MiniFreak V plugin. I was really hoping that the plugin would be an easy way to use my favorite MicroFreak sounds on the go. Of course, the sound character of the oscillators is the same but it‘s very hard if not impossible to reproduce MicroFreak patches on the MiniFreak plugin and vice versa.

Thank you very much for hinting me to the MiniFreak V!

I initially thought this is merely a kind of “companion” for those who have the hardware synth.
But NO, it is an independent version!

    Yikes!

There initially was also some confusion about this on their website.
However, as a customer of everything they have (software wise), I also get that nice discount, which ends in a few days.

    49,— € is a gift!

(I am not so much in digital sounding synths. Yeah, I think it is sounding little digital from all the patches i had a listen to. This is the reason why I did not consider to buy the hardware, despite the fact, that it was not even available anymore in Europe lately. So I am furthermore waiting for the KORG Drumlogue …)

But this one, the MiniFreak V surely can give another perspective to my sound taste.

Oh man, you’ve got me even more tempted…

  • jason wow 49? What do u own from Arturia already? I got 69€

Ugh, hard to find the truffles in this forrest of deals. What did you find?

    My findings:

    • The Diva expansion set
    • The AAS sale

I‘m a great fan of the physical modeling plugins of AAS. A tenner each for their „session“ range is a great value. I have lounge lizard and strum and they sound superb. The difference to the full version is that you can’t tweak the sound. They are preset plugins but the engine is the same. If you own a Novation product you can get them for free: https://customer.novationmusic.com/en/my-software

LOL, while looking at the AAS plugins, I noticed that they are in the current humble bundle for even less. https://www.humblebundle.com/software/get-into-music-variety-pack-software

AAS stuff is great. I went for the complete bundle and no regrets, very decent value of bought on sale. Good, often quite original sounds and lots of good presets.
