Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Saw this posted over at Dischord. I think the interface is very crisp and it seems to have a good feature set (scales, time changes, etc.). But the developer's website doesn't seem to exist, and it lacks AudioBus, so it would be difficult to control other apps with this in a recording context.

Thought I'd point this one out, but unless more information surfaces, I'll just wait wait for Tony's MIDI step sequencer (developer of Analog MidiSequencer).

  • This looks like Koushion, without some features. Also doesn't operate in the background. This is from the same developer as Midi Pad which was released last week and both websites are parked domains still. All up it looks like another step sequencer that brings nothing new to a market that has some very good options already.

  • Wow, yeah. I hadn't seen Koushion before or I would've picked up on that. Here's the link to that one:

The dev of Koushion is thinking of adding AB. If you email him it might give him a nudge. He has thought about it in the past but didn't think it was worth doing. He was going to implement Jack next??

Oh, no velocity and no modulation

and from the one review it appears that there is no note tying/step resolution. There's resolution for the entire sequence but you can't insert a quarter note if the grid is set to 16ths.
