Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Try the search bar too. Just pull down the list from the top and the search should appear. It’s weird some of mine aren’t in the list but if I search them they are there.

    Doug's dumpster dive:

  • I threw my drums into this and now it sounds like trash 😝

  • Is this plugin supposed make everything sound like a dusty old record?

  • I think that is the end of my dad jokes 🙃

  • For those in the uk and of a certain age (which might be most of us), My brain keeps getting the name wrong

For some reason can’t get it to show in AUM

It's an FX and not an instrument

I'm having the same issue, it doesn't come up as an effect.

Restart your device, then open the app in standalone before opening as AUv3. If that doesn't work, delete and repeat the above process 👍

Something a bit stupid.. let me take a guess.
Maybe an auv3 in where you can watch all the episodes of the Golden Girls.

    I want that
    "Picture it, Sicily 19XX"

  • Sounds great on drums from Digistix, but also really like it on Ting

    Ha,ha,ha,ha.
Now that’s a blast from the past.
    3,2,1?

  • It’s super fun, I like the sound! The UI is also quite neat, reminds me a bit of strng from Erik Sigth, I like how straightforward and tactile it is.

  • Dear @CaelumAudio , many thanks for the great app.
I am disappointed that you only gave me a blue bin however as that means I can only put thin soft papery sorts of sounds into it and can only use it every three weeks.
What I would really like is a Brown bin to put hard glassy tinny sounds in or even better a Green bin to put organic rustling woody sounds in and which I could use every week.
    Thanks in advance.

Not familiar with this since I’m across the pond but what is that hand gesture supposed to mean?

@Poppadocrock , the guy is Ted Rogers who hosted a game show in the 70s / 80s called 3-2-1. His trademark gesture was showing 3 then 2 then 1 fingers. The bin was called Dusty Bin!

  • Where have you 'bin' all my life?

Oops, I kinda dropped the pic and did a runner with no explanation.

Dusty Bin was the anamatronic "booby prize" on the gameshow. Every cryptic clue for the mystery prizes suggested it could be him, if you chose incorrectly, you went home with a plastic model of dusty.

I looked it up on YouTube today and it hasn't aged well. Ted Rogers "light banter" has all those negative traits you'd expect from the 70s and 80s.

  • Totally agree @timforsyth but despite all that Wikipedia tells us that Ted was earning £130,000 a year in the early 80s just from 3-2-1 so somebody must have liked him and the show 🤔

Gang sign*. Super sinister "gonna bury you 6 foot down like trash"

    • Not actually true. It's a little 3,2,1 finger shuffle. Something to do with the gameshow... But can't remember what.
  • This is one of my favorite freebies in a while. Sounds great on the Klevgrand percussion apps as well as Module Pro and Pure Piano. Excited to try it out some more. I think it excels as an effector for percussive things, but I haven’t tried it on synths yet (besides Monolit).

It wasn’t a gang sign not that I would know about such things.

    Exactly.
The Brit TV shows always had some kinda gimmick back
in those days and that was theirs for the U.K. version of the show.
Gang signs only turned up after kids saw the Americans doing it in movies.

Yeah, I’m not going to be watching the reruns anytime soon.

Definitely, it really brought out the best of Ting, imho.

And he invested it in a TV company and went broke. A bit sad...

Would really like to see some activity on fixing Tape Pro, which has never been formally addressed as far as I know. Still has the ear and equipment destroying POP sound and it will remain in the dustbin until they act to fix this.

This is in development during serious non tv watching programming time. Should have beta over the next week or so. I’ve basically re-written 90% of the code.

That is positive news. Thanks for the update. It has been aggravating waiting for this, so please understand my critical comment in that light.

    Completely understandable!

You can't expect your bins to be collected when you want/need them to be!

You haven’t missed much and thank you for Dustbin, I love the humour of it
and more importantly it’s going to be a staple effect for when I’m mixing drums.

  • Kinda makes me wish they would 'expand' on the concept...
What if the bin/trash is filled with different types of garbage?
And made out of different 'material' (Plastic / Metallic Bin etc. etc.).

  • Love this. Very much a simple, single-minded kind of app. Reminds me of a Klevgrand product. Except it wouldn't have been free if they'd released it :D

Agreed. I liked it on Skaka and Slammer as well.
