Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Track D7 - "Cigarette$" (Korg Gadget)

Started making a synth wave track ... ended up with this. Oh well.

    Gadgets used:

    • London for drums
    • Bilbao for the crash only
    • Memphis playing just the Rocket Engine patch at the beginning
    • Miami playing Comp Lex Bass patch at the beginning
    • Two instances of Brussels for basses (a pumping one and a repeating one)
    • Phoenix doing the pad until...
    • Darwin accompanying with stabby pads when the melody begins. Which is...
    • Wolfburg- the first melody lines then...
    • Darwin (another instance) does the melody of second section
    • another Darwin does the arpeggios
    • Another Wolfsburg does the Noise Up patch between sections

In the key of Ab. BPM 125.
    Progression:
    Intro:
    4, 1 x 2
    4,1,5 x 1
    During verse melody:
    4,1,5 x 1
    4,1,6 x 1
    Chorus:
    1, 5, 2, 6 x 1
    1,5,6,4 x 1
    Repeat until end of time.

A little bit more detail than asked for haha
Also the title "Cigarette$" is a nod to the band Cigarettes after Sex whose song "Heavenly" was basically the inspiration for this song.

I was wondering if Cigarettes After Sex was an influence! I love them a lot.

Thanks for the detail, it’s appreciated. I don’t use Gadget nearly as much as I used to but this has me inspired to dive back in again. London is one of my favorites as well.

  • I like a lot of your tracks on your SC. Nice melodies and compositions. This one is great and wow gadget, that was my first love that got me started.
    Keep it up please 👍

  • Indeed, many good tracks on your SC. Did you make all those D.. tracks in Gadget?
If you haven’t, you should consider uploading them through GadgetCloud too. They deserve to be in the “Top chart” over there.

According to Wikipedia, "Synthwave musicians often espouse nostalgia for 1980s culture and attempt to capture the era's atmosphere and celebrate it". I'd say you did a damn fine job.

Thank you for listening to some of my other tracks! Not all the tracks with "D" are Gadget - most are though. On 2nd of April I set a challenge to create a track a day. Yes, impossible task and, indeed, it was impossible. However, I was able to compose 16 tracks in the month - not what I aimed for but it's good enough. Gadget is perfectly suited for this sort of challenge because you can create something in a short amount of time.

Some of the tracks were composed on Logic (the trial version) as I learned to use it more. I think all the tracks purely made in Gadget were uploaded to GadgetCloud. Thank you for the kind words.

Well then, I'm glad. And thank you so much for listening.

    I’d be happy with 16 tracks a year :D

True, the directness and speed is why I love it too.
