Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Sarasvati

I recorded this about 25 years ago with a virtuoso guitarist named Tony Iovino, We used a 4-track tape deck and bounced this more times than a Globetrotters basketball. I used a number of filters to improve the sound, but it is what it was. Hang onto to your hats!

After we finished the CD, he disappeared, and I never heard from him again.

I think this is the last known sighting of Tony Iovino...

  • Tony had some wicked licks! Thanks for sharing this!

  • Wow. Awesome display of chops by Tony. He had some really innovative ideas in his patterns and the emulation of sitar bends. What a monster of shred style speed picking.

Who played those organ lines? That was another musical monster and deserves to be called out for mention.

No MIDI at speed here, right? Everything was recorded live with little post processing.
I might expect each player added their contribution and were allowed multiple takes but
that probably continues to impact the addition of noise to the final product.

If you engineered this using 4 tracks you did really good work.

The main lick in this project sounds like a theme in "The Fifth Element" probably because it uses the same indian scale.

Yes, Tony was quite a character! He was, as Rush said, A New World Man. He had a problem with his poisons.

Yes, Tony could have been a contender. I often wonder what ever happened to him.
This piece was just the two of us. He played guitar and I did everything else. This was back when I actually played. I used a Korg 01W, a Fender bass, and a Mini Moog that I borrowed from a friend. There was very little MIDI involved other than the PCM timing stripe on track 1, a drum machine, and a few reference chords. After that, we just started overdubbing. As I recall, it was fun. We were pretty much shit-faced.

  • Great guitar playing but hey, your no slouch. Visions of Jan Hammer on the Moog came to mind… impressive stuff.

I needed about 30-40 takes to get that one right. You only need 1 good one! Fortunately, I stopped after I had one that I didn't mess up. Thanks for checking it out!

I remastered this with MagicDeathEye. Don’t mean to bump it, but I thought Tony was really good. I think there are a few members that might like it.

Great musician. It's been four decades and memories fade, but I'm pretty sure that hotel across the street is where a married lady I met at work once took a much younger and more naive me. Here's hoping Tony is okay.

  • @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr Memories fade, but that one is probably still quite clear! I haven’t heard from Tony since we finished that project. He liked to party… a lot. Live fast, die young, so to speak. I hope he is still with us somewhere.

  • Hell yeah that is a great tune. Definitely fusion great playing by everyone. I love hearing great guitar playing. Fast enough picking to even please dimeola I would think

  • Amazing what could be done on a 4-track. Excellent playing by both of you - has a real Jeff & Jan Hammer vibe, Led Boots or this one.
