Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

  • Not to be a dampener, i have scaler2 and suggester on Logic

I prefer suggester Mac app over scaler for super quick results

Scaler 2 sometimes too complicated for its own good at times, binding , unbinding etc

Fair point... Scaler has grown so much that it's hard to keep everything just a click away.

We try hard however! And we do listen to users' feedback. ( checkout the forum: https://forum.scalerplugin.com/ )

At the end of the day, we are making software, but you guys are making music... so whatever makes it easy for you, we are happy to have a look at.
I hope you've applied to the iOS beta program and look forward to more feedback like this.

The only thing in scaler 2 that’s appeals to me , is the decent inbuilt sound sets , and chord detection hence I can hear everything in one app

This is where Davide Carbone and the whole team at Samplify https://www.samplify.studio/ (+ all the artists we work with) bring the real magic in Scaler. The content is top quality, everything always sounds amazing, anywhere you click... I think everybody will be amazed in the next few weeks at what comes for FREE when you download Scaler on your iPad.

Agree the sound sets are nice , you never want to move away from felt piano, but I hope the main bread and butter feature ie chords progressions is just a click/drag away.

There can a advanced and simple mode , for those who don’t like deep menu diving .
(for example , I forgot my Italian 20 years ago since I took theory lessons, hence I get lost in all those endless Italian names for chord phrases

  • Interesting view on Scaler and Suggester @hisdudeness . I use Suggester on iOS presently and love the rapid ability to test out new chord progressions but use Scaler in Bitwig on the desktop and find the binding easy to use and the built in progressions are much easier to come up with ideas, personally. Also, ability to generate multiple different parts , such as leads and bass are a massive plus point for Scaler. Personally, I will be removing Suggester as soon as Scaler becomes available on iOS. But, do understand the instant speed of Suggester. Guess everyone has their own way of coming up with ideas and we should use what works.

  • @ScalerEd Welcome! When will the testflight invitations be send?

  • Love the audio detection thing.. this alone is worth getting Scaler..

    Looking forward to it..

  • Just received a e-mail that my Testflight membership is accepted. Thanks @ScalerEd

Glad to see the test flights are starting to roll out. Been checking my email in anticipation. Of course also happy to wait until release if there are already too many beta testers. Looking forward to testing this one. Haven’t seen many entries on the iOS beta thread on scaler which I take is a good sign and all is running smoothly.

Has anyone been accepted into the group but waiting on beta invite? I saw it said something about taking a few days, it’s been like 4. I just want to make sure I’m not missing anything. Plus my intense eagerness to try it out is getting the better of me, lol.

Update - Hey @ScalerEd welcome! Maybe you could help me with this, I know your busy but I want just to make sure I’m not missing anything here… should I keep my eyes peeled for an email or is there anything else I need to do. I got my Scaler Forum Certificate. That was a nice little forum feature.

Wow! As if my anticipation wasn’t high enough already, lol.

  • Heard they are waiting on Apple to approve the beta.

I was wondering the same thing as I got accepted in the forum immediately. After searching the forum @ScalerEd mentioned that they need to add the TestFlights manually. Although I am excited to try this in the iPad environment it is nice to having the desktop version to remind myself how wonderful this app is. One of my favorite playgrounds.

Gotcha. Thanks. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. Cheers!

    @mikewb Thanks.

  • While we waiting some of the new features added to the desktop. Hope it’s a direct port on iOS.

;) You have a couple weeks before the full release (a bit less if you join the beta). It's a good time to make some space on your filesystem if you are one of us with little storage left on your device.

If you want all the sounds... it's about 1GB total, but you don't have to download it all... or in one go. But you probably will because they sound really cool.

We ported all the app, everything... from the detection to the performances, modulation, suggestion, sync, MIDI CC, etc... We've made some cool adaptations where we could or where it was needed.

We will be sharing more details throughout the next weeks.

Thanks for the welcome and the support,
    Ed

Looks very promising, Ed. Scaler for MacOS is brilliant.

    @ScalerEd

Brilliant news had the desktop version since day one so really looking forward to this on iOS. It’s going to be revolutionary .

Amazing… me thinks calling it just ‘Scaler’ is a ‘misrepresentation’… seems to be so much more…

People still waiting on this invite, after being accepted? Just making sure I’m not missing anything. Cheers!

I’m still waiting. Not exactly patiently, but waiting. I really want to try this app!

  • Nothing in my inbox yet…

  • Nothing here as well. I assume they are still attempting to get the beta approved by apple. Haven't seen any movement on the iOS beta on the scaler forums. I am pretty sure this is their first ever app on iOS so they may not be used to the hoops apple requires to submit. Very excited for this coming to iOS

  • Scaler 2 has been in internal review after a few bugs were discovered by the dev team. It’s been submitted to Apple now and those already accepted in the beta (received invite) will receive a TestFlight invite code this week sometime.

Those who aren’t in the beta forum group yet may still be invited to the next team.

  • Ok, thanks for the feedback. I just wanted to make sure I didn’t miss an email, or message. I’ve searched but wanted to check back in to make sure it wasn’t just me. Cheers! I’m sure it will be soon.

That’s what I was thinking since that process can sometimes take longer then it should.

Yep. You’re not alone. Several members reached out about it in the beta forum and the team answered with an update. There’s also a video of S2 on iPad in action over there if you haven’t seen it. I suppose watching that probably won’t help with the anticipation issue though 😬 lol

  • @ScalerEd It very nice and considerate of you to make all the sounds optional -- not everyone has a gig for sounds, especially when they already have gigs of sounds of their own. :)

  • Still no Apple clearance? What's the status?

It will not. Lol. But thanks for the help.
