Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Scaler 2: 2022 GameChangier iPad port out NOW!!
Oh it’s coming! It’s definitely, absolutely, positively, officially 100% comfirmed coming SOON!
Scaler 2 along with Logic, Maschine and Serato Sample get opened and used any and every time I open my MacBook to create music. Scaler 2 is hands down the best and most comprehensive tool for exploring and writing chords with Captain Plugins coming in second for me. While Captains suite is prettier, more intuitive and probably higher on fun factor…it requires an internet connection and is more expensive. Scaler 2 is pretty much perfect.
Now, it will soon be available to TOUCH 🤯. According to those who’ve seen it, it’s VERY good and will exceed expectations. I don’t even know how that’s possible or what it means. My expectation is a 100% port of the desktop app which is as high an expectation as possible. Can’t possible imagine how it could be better.
In fact, I can’t think of anything gamechangier than Scaler 2 except Logic on iPad. I know it’s oft-discussed round these parts. For the record, I 110% believe Logic is coming or it may just be a massive GB overhaul but Apple is definitely gonna announce major game changing updates for Apple software for M1 chipped up devices this year.
What are you anticipating or jonesing to touch on iPad this year?

While I’m talking chords…I just want to give some flowers 💐 🌺 to a brilliant and underrated dev @Dmitry_Klochkov for his pioneering and great work on iOS..
I’ve been a huge fan of his work since he launched his first app through Chordflow and finally, the great Tune Maker which I still use. If it were better supported by the community, I believe it could have become the quintessential songwriting tool for any platform.
Tune Maker hasn’t been touched in years and it is still usable and brilliant today.
I think the project was negatively impacted by the dev trying to secure funding for his work through a sub model which is so unfortunate because for me, it is the biggest example of why many of the best and brightest devs don’t continue supporting some of the most genius apps to ever hit App Store. This is assumptive of course but I can’t begin to imagine why else someone so brilliant would abandon something so brilliant. Also, I’ve seen it before with NS2, BM3 to some extent, a few others…
At any rate, just wanted to pay homage and give Dmitry his flowers. You’re a coding rockstar wherever you are dude 🐐.
Tune Maker had flown under my radar but it seems to have a lot of functionality in there so I have picked it up. Thanks for the recommendation! I don’t know anything about Scaler so I will need to watch some videos on what it can do.
Tune maker and ChordFlow were my two secret songwriting tools. This dev really made the complicated simple when it comes to music theory, chords, scales etc. Or at least, he made tools that made sense for how my brain works. Anyhow, I wish Bluetooth audio was supported and also more ways to export the midi. You can host aus which is insane and must have took a lot of effort but no way to freeze stems to audio which would have been game changing for me.
At any rate, thanks for stopping by and hopefully we can get others to support tune maker for future support sake. Finally, stay tuned for Scaler 2. If you’ve skimmed videos I imagine you’re already anticipating it.
I wonder if it’s going to have full desktop functionality or if it’s going to be a scaled
down version?
The devs said they would accept no compromises when considering if they would even attempt the port. On the forum, they also commented how great the iPad version is (final beta touches now) so I’m super geeked up for a full featured port. The expansive chord sets per genre and audio key/chord detection is what I’m coockoo for 🤪
Great! I have it on desktop and it’s really deep from what I’ve seen. Haven’t used it all that much though as I definitely prefer making music on my iPad/iPhone anywhere I am rather than being stuck sitting in front of my pc.
When it comes to iOS it’s an instant buy (again) for me for sure.
Wow, @CapnWillie, that is some pretty impressive software! For those like me who weren’t familiar with it, here is an overview:
There are a number of forum members who who will be thrilled when this drops — especially @McD.
Thank for the heads-up so I don’t waste any of my precious app reserves on spur of the moment purchases!
It really is some magical stuff and very well supported.
I was inspired by a video of what @GeoTony is able to do with GeoShred + Scalerbud 2 + various synths and remembered about Scaler 2 coming to ipad. I’ll definitely be using it in a similar way.
After seeing that video I’m totally sold. Amazing if they port it to iPad without it being a diluted version, because there’s a lot going on to fit on an ipad screen. The chord recognition from audio would be worth it enough
Q1 that is great news
It definitely has a lot going on but oddly, it’s pretty simple. Somehow it feels like one page with really deep drop downs. As simple or complex as you need.
If I’m not mistaken, I believe another great chord app called Tonality has audio/chord rec.
Must admit once this comes out not many other chord sequence style apps will get a look in. Been using it for a few years on desktop looking fwd to the iOS edition.
I didn’t want to be so honest but I must agree.lol I will say Tune Makers built in sequencer, drum track and AU hosting will keep it in rotation for me.
JFC. I feel like I can accomplish a lot of what Scaler does between some of the 'Buds, Tonality, MIDIStrummer, etc. All of it and more being in one place though... definitely keeping an eye out for this.
@CapnWillie I’ve been using Chordpolypad thru IDAM for a while now, making my own sets of chords for songs which forces me to get more familiar with some weird scales which is good . I need to take a closer look at Scaler on desktop, it seems pretty great. I need to check it out and see a list of all the scales it has. Glad to see its so useful to you.
Yes sir. Great minds think alike.lol. Love Chordpolypad. I have a custom template on Launchpad X to control 8 CPP chord pads along with 16 BM3 pads and transport controls. Awesome app.
This is a 🔥 sounding workflow!

It’s pretty tight. Picked it up from @eni_ott Buddy is pretty cold on BM3 + LPX if you haven’t seen his bm3 cook up series on the tube. I modified his template and made my own Maschine mk3 emulation with chord pads (CPP), note repeat and transport.
Btw, I know you’re a fan of interfaces. You gotta check out CEntrance Mixerface mobile interface. Probably my favorite interface ever. Can’t believe I missed this one for all of these years. Never heard anything about it before lucking past a used one for sale. You won’t believe how much value is packed into these tiny little boxes.
scaler is seriously fucking EPIC. its the best midi mangler out there. looking forward to the ios version
Nice! No I’ve never heard/heard of it, I’ll have to look into it. Better than apogee etc?
💯 And with Au fx/midi format and touch, I think it’ll be a match made in heaven on iOS
I’d never heard of this, but now I’ve watched the video I must have it.
Has anyone heard or know anything about price? Any guesses on pricing model? Or total amount?
Like many, I hope it isn’t subscription.
From the hype, I would buy it... up to about 20 to 30 euro.
With or without the Workflow / Loopy Pro model.
Subscription?
Nope...
I don’t see any precedent or reason to believe the ipad version pricing would be any leap from the desktop version which is pretty low and always on sale. Thats another reason its sooooo amazing. I think i got Scaler free with a purchase of another sale item on PluginBoutique then i paid like $20 to upgrade to Scaler 2.
I’m almost sure whatever ipad version costs is way less than its worth. I got my moneys worth from the desktop version in the first hour of use.lol
I’m curious if the Launchpad X has the ability to edit/configure the device to send out the midi note and channel of your choosing on a per button/pad basis.
If so, can this be done directly on the device without the need of a computer?
👀👀👀👀 been patiently waiting since they said they were going to port. Glad it’s coming sooner than I thought.
What’s good @CapnWillie!!
Novations native software only runs on the desktop (and web browser)
MidiSynth Control https://apps.apple.com/us/app/midisynth-control/id1366849280 is what you want for programming it on iOS
🪀 @hansjbs Whats up Playa?! Can’t wait for this app. Been back on iPad a lot lately. You know we back outside down here in Florida so IPad Pro is the ultimate standalone for on the go beats 🏆.
Just got MidiSynth. You’ll need the 12.99 LPX control IAP and you’ll have all the power of Novation Components on your iPad. Actually it’s better than components because you can choose a scale for the keyboard widget.
I’m good fam thanks.
Yeah that’s the beauty about Florida. I love it. Was around your area last weekend.
So this MIDISynth how you’re liking it? Is it worth the 12.99 for the Launchpad stuff??
