Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
Anyone tried MPC Desktop software with a MIDI controller (and no MPC hardware)?
I've been toying around with the idea of getting an MPC One.
Then I run across this...

If I am understanding this correctly, I can get the latest MPC 2.10 functionality on my Mac. And it works with various MIDI controllers.
Has anyone tried this?? Of course, I realize the standalone MPC hardware experience wouldn't be the same with a laptop and MIDI controller. But I can get the trial version now for my Mac and at least get some sense of the MPC workflow. And the full software packages seem reasonably priced.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Joe

Before buying MPC One I also used the software .
Well the workflow is completely different ,at least try finding a used touch (if it works on your MacOS version ) to get an idea
I have an MPC Studio Black, and an MPC Live 2, and between both of them and using the desktop software without using an MPC controller it’s pretty much like having 3 different workflow experiences lol
Thanks for the feedback!
A couple more things to mention: I just bought the MPD218 to have MPC pads and learn finger drumming. And I installed MPC Beats on my Mac.
So I wish I had an easy (cheap) way to get a sense of the MPC workflow and experience.
You also get the desktop version when you buy an MPC hardware device when you register it.
