Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Standalone dawless workstations?

  • In order to know which groovebox would fit with you, you need to understand the workflow of each box. That's what you're buying, imo. Each box has a few instruments and fx, with a way to make a song out of them. The way they do this is what will make you want to use them.

  • Bump to say so far so good my first week with the Akai MPC Key 61. My first MPC, so there's some learning curve. It does feel like that mythical dawless-in-disguise workstation has arrived for me.

Doing my best for now to stick with just the Key 61, my guitar and bass, and a microphone. Will try to integrate iPad and other gear later. (Except, I did succeed in playing my guitar > iPad > MIDI Guitar 2 > AUM > MIDI Bluetooth > MPC > any virtual instrument.)

    Thanks,
    Joe
