An experiment with Imaginando’s new and amazing VS - Visual Synthesizer, as well as an experiment in semi-generative pattern switching, and semi-generative synth parts using the probability and chance features in Atom 2.
This is actually more of a musical experiment of mine, a lot more than the VS experiment if you would.
Hosted in AUM, the first experiment here, is in randomly switching two different patterns in Hammerhead Rhythm Station with an instance of Atom 2 with the pattern switching notes set to 70% probability, then a couple Ravenscroft 275 parts with random probabilities in Atom 2 controlled by MIDILfo. Then a couple driving synth sounds from Drambo and also featuring sounds from Synthmaster 2 BETA.

I had my 2018 iPad Pro 64GB on its knees trying to to a screen recording with all the synths etc in AUM. The real struggle came trying to add VS, which shot my DSP way past 100 and sent me to Crackle town instantly.
So, I decided to record the parts to (commit to audio) and then run that in the File Players with a fresh AUM. I then created a dummy instance of Atom 2 with notes on the beat just to trigger VS. and VS I decided to run in standalone for the “real” full screen.

I also have just done my first vid with VS.
I ran the audio on the Air 3,
videoed it using my iPhone and screen recorded the pro and then put together everything in LumaFusion.
I have a lot more experimenting to
do though I am quite liking the results
so far.
I have to turn the setting down
to medium or slow to get it reacting
in time.
It’s a beast on the cpu for sure.
Yeah this is another one of those times where software will force me to go out and buy hardware (That new M1 Pro 12.9” is calling my NAME!) lol

So, kind of a weird thing going on with YouTube.
Last night I uploaded the first video above, and my GF, sitting across from me in the same room, sees it, says “cool!” And gives it the thumbs up which I saw almost immediately.
Then, @Gravitas left a comment on YouTube (which I also immediately saw) before I ever shared anything on the AB forums.
Now, this morning, her thumbs up is gone (she swears she didn’t “un-like” it or remove her thumbs up…. And I’ve done all the refreshing, logging out, back in and everything.
Also gone is @Gravitas’ comment! What the hell is going on here? Disappearing comments and thumbs ups… ??
I mean, I didn’t wake up this morning expecting a million views and hundreds of thumbs ups, but when I get one or two, they’re important to me!

Lolololol nah, youtube does do strange things at times.
For instance I lost a subscriber after I uploaded my most recent vid.
Sometimes YouTube goes through our accounts
and deletes fake profiles so think nothing of it. 😁
Also I had had trouble uploading a vid via LumaFusion
and I went to the LumaFusion forum to find out
and they didn't have any answers and then a couple of
days later it turned out that youtube had a problem on their
side of things in regards to uploads and issued an announcement
via the browsers not via the apps. "Sigh"....
It's all good. 😁

Yeah YT can be strange, especially with all the copyright stuff. They’ve almost got me not wanting to ever even try to do any cover songs anymore. I’ve just been sticking with my own material lately.

Yeah, I should pay a little more attention to what I’m uploading sometimes. I just deleted the “Part 2” thing with the French horn.
I’m going to reincorporate something like that in a new piece. Now that I have a basic understanding of VS, I should be able to create one with each instrument having its own “visual” and have them blended together.
Plus I’ll know to remove the accessibility button from the screen before recording also! Doh!

Yeah, I'm doing the same thing on my end of things.
My upload last night had some audio glitches
so I'm reuploading it again now and I'm going to delete
the upload from last night.
Something to bear in mind if you're using LumaFusion.
When exporting check the sample rate.
The main piece of footage that I used was recorded at 48kHz.
When uploading to YouTube the export settings for audio were set
to 44.1kHz so LumaFusion didn't sample convert properly.
I did a couple of tests to triple check.
Thanks! Good to know! Though Luma Fusion is going to have to wait until I get my new iPad. I had to remove it a while back due to a lack of storage space.
