Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Two weeks quarantine flying in, two weeks flying out? Yeah, no.
I think I may go. But it’s easy for me as it is in my home town.
Meine auch. 😎
It was different, but not better or worse than the last time (Superbooth 19). Great and very special show!
I also enjoyed it. I didn‘t know beforehand that modular synths are the main focus. I’m not into modular because I’m afraid of a very expensive GAS that might break free then 😅 It was kind of funny that software shops tried to instantly show how to use their stuff with modular gear, for instance Fruity Loops demoed their CV converter. A highlight for me was the Moog tent with a huge number of stations where you could play around with their semi modular devices and tons of giveaways like cool t-shirts.
It was also cool to test drive Bitwig on a large touch screen - really not bad. I really liked the smart context sensitive tool popups on long press. They seemed to anticipate what you might want to do. Editing Midi was better than anything else I experienced on the iPad. I think iOS DAW makers should get inspired. Unfortunately no plans for the iPad from their side 😕 I don’t know how official the statement was but they said Apple the gatekeeper and their 30% tax is a problem for them.
As a Drambo user it was hilarious to see Kilohearts phaseplant. It won so many prices but if you ask me, Drambo is much more capable. Well, maybe I did not dive deep enough into it due to my time constraints. Anyway I told them to take a look at Drambo and the guy noted it down. Probably Beepstreet should go desktop 🤔
There were quite some interesting small desktop synths. The most impressive for me was Fred’s Lab ZeKit which is very good sounding, 4 voice paraphonic additive synthesis for just 129 Euro. I don’t know how but the few knobs and buttons really seem to be enough. Just a pity that it has no USB.
