Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Bandlab app surprisingly good.

I always avoided this app, but recently started using the Bandlab daw on windows. I decided to check out the ios app and to my surprise, I was very impressed with its high quality samples, midi instruments and ease of use. I was stunned to find out I could record vocals, a guitar, bass, etc and very good effects. A toy in the hands of a newbie bedroom producer, but a very usable music making weapon with anyone with experience. Hell, its free. give it a spin.

  • I was trying to see if there was any desktop daw that could export midi and retain individual clips/regions to iOS (instead of full-length clips) and decided to fire up two of the browser-based stuff. One was Audiotool and the other was Bandlab. Both got some updates in the recent months/years that made them really stand out.

I still have Sonar (which is Bandlab's predecessor), but sometimes the streamlined interface of Bandlab attracts me more.

Definitely a fun tool to have

  • Sorry if i'm stealing Bandlab's thunder, but just for those who recall Tabletop in it's "glory days", Audiotool is exactly that:

  • No worries. Looking into audio tool now. Never heard of it. Thanks for the heads up

  • Still fond of Tabletop....
