Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Why does final touch have so much document data?

This is puzzling me - my edition of Final Touch says it’s got 700+ Mb in documents and data (from Settings / General / iPad Storage) but from within Final Touch there are no files that I can see.

Obviously I could deinstall and reinstall the app, but I really shouldn’t have to!

Anyone any clues?

Thanks

In iPadOS, a file can be shared, appearing in two folders at once. If that's the case, it will be double counted in the Storage list, even if it's "not really" there. If you've imported files from Photos or whatever, that's what you may be seeing.

  • It’s possible - but the only place would be AudioShare. I shall have a look.

It’s odd because I haven’t used Final Touch for a while so none of the AudioShare files have ever been near Final Touch.

  • That's a tough one. With iOS you just can't be sure whether individual storage reported by apps is actually taking up space or not. However in this case it's pretty suspicious. It may well be that Final Touch isn't cleaning up after itself properly. Short of trying to work with Positive Grid support (good luck with that :| ) I don't see how you can sort this out without deleting and re-installing the app.

  • I’m not 100% sure but few years ago i’ve read that they use some google technology in their products. Maybe that is the problem?

  • It could be an issue with the app having stored some data and not having really deleted it when it said it did. If you have something like iMazing, you can peek at the hidden folders and see if there is something there. But if you don’t have presets or anything you are afraid to lose, deleting and reinstalling may be the path of least resistance.

  • Is there an app for iPad (like iMazing on the desktop) to check what's in the iTunes File Sharing folder for apps?
