Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Web Page Authoring Suggestions

edited March 2021 in Other

I used to use Dreamweaver many many many years ago for super basic stuff.

Are there any decent free on windows, or dirt cheap (non-sub) on iOS web authoring apps that you recommend? Not doing anything fancy with it at all. Just 90s style home page stuff.

  • The basic free WordPress software should easily be able to meet your needs. It has recently been revamped and I’d quite powerful.

For even more advanced features, I really like Elementor.

    https://elementor.com/

Tons of free tutorials for both on YouTube....

  • It’s probably not directly suitable, but give asciidoctor/antora a try. It uses the modern (not legacy) up to date asciidoctor syntax to produce a good-looking self-contained page, typically aimed at documentation needs. If you need a more complex multi-page documentation site, those asciidoctor pages can live in an antora implementation, to give you nice navigation etc. The asciidoctor syntax is a very easy human-readable lightweight markup language (a bit like markdown, only better).

As I say, probably not the best for a ‘home page’ (although I certainly would, myself), but simple enough to get started with without having to worry about a lot of technicalities.

    https://asciidoctor.org/ - makes a documentation page
    https://antora.org/ - makes a documentation site

Does this work if I have my own .com / hosting already?

Hmmm, looks like even the free one wants you to transfer or map your domain. i just want to edit html files and not look at gobbelygook (being an idiot).

  • Similar to Dreamweaver, something like the free version of CoffeeCup editor might work for you:

  • On iOS check out Koder. It's free and does all the basic stuff:

That's probably the case. I use either or both to build new sites from scratch in the developer "sandbox," then purchase the domain name before launch. Check with your web host — they may have some simple, easy tools and/or solutions.

Wordpress, the software itself, is free/open source. Many web hosts offer it as a free/automatic install with a basic hosting account. Might want to check with your web host.
