Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Sugarbytes thesys and audiobus ...?

edited April 2014 in App Tips and Tricks

Due to audiobus, can thesys sequence any synth, even if it doesn't have midi capabilities?

Comments

  • No, Audiobus doesn't do MIDI, just audio, the synths will need MIDI input to accept data from Thesys.

  • Thanks. I thought this was the case. So in that case, what's the point of having multiple inputs in audiobus? I'm missing something

  • It's all audio. You can have multiple apps as inputs running their audio into the same effects within Audiobus.

  • Sorry, what I mean is this: when you have two inputs running into re same effect, I'm wondering how it works, workflow wise, as you can only play one input at a time .. Would love to see a use-case .. Clearly I'm missing something!

  • In one app you could play live and have the midi out controlling the other app, for layering, or the other app could be running through an int or ext sequencer, or ext controller, or it could just be playing a file. There are probably other use cases, but those are the few that come to mind.

  • Gotcha (I think) :)
