Hugely OT: can’t login to Facebook app on iOS
I got logged out and suddenly started getting:
‘Login Error
An unexpected error occurred
Please try logging in again’
Username and password are right as I can login on safari. If I put in a different password it says incorrect password.
Same problem on FB messenger app too.
Tried deleting/reinstalling, hard reset, reset privacy settings, reset network settings, all with no dice.
Anyone got any ideas?

You say that like it’s a bad thing.
@gregsmith I see there are very recent updates to those apps. They may be broken, at least on your iOS version. Try complaining to Facebook.
Facebook is Facebook. They honestly don't give a sh*t about user feedback that is not positive gung-ho.
It's more like 'If you don't like what we do don't use our services' or something.
I've had no issues logging in though. iOS/iPadOS14.3 and latest versions of Messenger.app and Facebook.app.

I know I know, FB is shite, but it does have its place. There’s certain friends and relatives that I keep up with through it which don’t use other platforms.
I think the only option is to send a report which I’ve done, but I don’t know if they even look at them tbh. It’s really dumb.
Looking at threads on other forums, it looks like this has been a problem for a lot of people for a long time.
There’s suggestions for fixes, none of which worked for me. The final suggestion seems to be to reset to factory settings and redownload everything (without restoring from backup - that brings the problem back)
There’s no way I’m risking losing years worth of local music app goodness for Facebook.
Still, it’s extremely frustrating!
Besides deleting/reinstalling apps is there any other standard fixes that people try to fix music apps? I wonder if I might get lucky with any of those.

Yesterday my FB messenger app stated that
it had changed privacy settings from the E.U
to the U.S so maybe FB changing it's servers
could be causing problems for other users
in regards to the FB app itself.
You've installed, reinstalled? etc, etc???
Most probably wait until the app has been updated.
They do regular updates all the time until
then access your account via a browser.
It certainly isn't worth deleting and
reinstalling your whole iPad setup for.

Yup, they should do because normally deleting and
reinstalling the app would clear out the cache.
