Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.
Looking for a standalone production environment on Windows that is CPU friendly.
I dont want to use a daw (already have reaper) but want something sort of grooveboxy on desktop (windows) that i can start and finish tracks in. Something like Audulus would be cool also that doesnt need to be loaded into a DAW. Does this exist? I am relatively new to music on desktop...

Maschine.
Not CPU friendly: VCV Rack but kind of what you're after. Works well on decent computer with a GPU.
Maschine is not my friend. NI and I do not get along.
Sorry to hear that.
Caustic runs on Windows and it’s free, super light even for old netbooks

Not sure if it'll work on the latest versions of Windows (haven't used Windows in years), but it's worth a shot.
I did not know that existed. Awesome. Thanks for that.
@jwmmakerofmusic @Korakios @sippy_cup - Thanks for these posts. Didn't know they were on WIndows.
i don’t have it but i’ve seen gadget works on pc
MPC Beats
FREEEEEEEE! 😎
Zenbeats can be kinda Groove-boxy if you limit yourself to using it that way.
+1 Caustic!
PC???
Talk about an obvious off-topic post!!! 🙄
Not so much when you consider most of the apps mentioned so far are cross-platform and have iOS versions as well.
+1
Free on Mac and windows.
Packed with great features.
Scrolling rack user interface may be a little annoying at first, but you quickly get used to it.
Great pattern and song mode sequencer.
Random sample generator for the drum box.
Draw your own synth oscillator waveforms.
Wrap-tail feature for loop export.
Great built-in sample editor.
Awesome, but an off-topic post when you're on iOS
But WTF? A pretty loose play.
As Zappa once said: "Ultimately who gives a fuck anyway?"
Enjoy your thread! 🙃
Considering all the shit we've been through this year, sorry I even brought it up... 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙌🏻🙏🏼🙌🏻🙏🏼🙌🏻

That reminds me. Sunvox. Only partially kidding.
The best groovebox type app I've ever used on Windows is Orion Platinum.
A concept similar to Caustic but much more advanced and a UI that is even more fun to use.
It's a dead product now but if you can get it (second hand maybe?), even an older version, I can highly recommend it.
Versions below V7.5 run well on older single core machines (like Pentium Mobile), V7.5+ runs better on multi core CPUs.
I'm checking this out. Thanks!
ZB is fine but it's a DAW type environment, something I am avoiding as I already have Reaper
