Is 4pockets expander good for non percussion expansion?

Hello!

I'm interested in purchasing 4pockets expander but the examples I see in the app store both show noise-gate style implementations - can it also be used for non rhythmic expansion?

IE. if I have a recording of someone strumming a harp and some parts are loud, some quiet, and I just want to exaggerate the difference in volume- can it something like this well?
