Sending midi from iPad/iO Dock to a delay pedal, while running backing track?

I've got an iPad2 and Alesis iO dock. I need to be able to play a backing track, while at the same time sending a midi pulse to a delay pedal, as the delay needs to be totally in sync with the click. Can Audiobus work for that? Any suggestion for what apps would work with that?
