Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Download on the App Store

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

  • Thx for this. Is there a game like mariokart that can be played multiplayer with friends online?

  • @gregsmith
I know there is a Sonic the hedgehog racer - don’t know about the pricing though.

Actual mariokart can do that. But it’s expensive if you want all the drivers. It’s not expensive if you just play what you get :)

  • thank you. I'm not a gamer but liked and bought Monument Valley, which I find a good game for children. Good to know that there is a successor, Monument Valley 2, and free. I probably won't have the time to play it, but good to have.

  • Alphaputt, a excellent golfing games is free for the first time:

btw. there is hell lot of IAPS available inside app byt any of them is needed for fully enjoying game .. i didn't spent no money and i'm already at level 38 with my character :)

  • For those who are stuck at home and want to delve into quality iOS gaming, Apple Arcade probably is the best bet. For the initial free test month and maybe another month you get a huge amount of quality games. If someone‘s on the fence, I can throw together a list with great games.

  • @Zaubrer said:. If someone‘s on the fence, I can throw together a list with great games.

You said it, now you have to do exactly that. 😁👊

  • Ooofz, nearly done and then Safari crashed...

Starting with the most recent and going down in release order. Those are my personal favorites, there are a couple of others which were critically acclaimed though.

    Roundguard:
If you know Peggle from the golden day of Popcap, this one‘s for you. Pretty much the same gameplay but spiced up a lot with new features. It even has a few rogue-lite features thrown in for good measure. Very recommended.

    Crossy Road Castle:
Follow up to the game which changed F2P games forever. This time it‘s a side-scrolling jump and run. You really can only run and jump. Difficulty ranges from toddler simple to damn tricky. It really shines in local multiplayer over WLAN or Bluetooth with up to three others. Perfect for families I would recon. Fun for a while but not for hours straight.

    No Way Home:
An absolutely content filled twin stick sci-fi rogue-like. It‘s huge. Lots of stuff to see, collect and do. One to absolutely try!

    Doomsday Vault:
Simple but cute puzzler in which you need to save the last plant on earth to keep alive all the green we need. Great for younger ones as well.

    LEGO Builder‘s Journey:
Monument Valley meets LEGO. Takes the formula of the former and adds the bricks from the latter. Absolutely worth a try.

    Guildlings:
Very entertaining text reading/RPG/puzzle adventure. Set in modern time with a magical twist this one is very fun to play.

    Monomals:
Collect Monomals in adventure mode and create music with them! Very fun gameplay and it‘s cool to see how much you can actually create with the integrated music maker. Surely a great way to bring music to those who are afraid of DAWs... highly polished game, best enjoyed with a controller.

    Manifold Garden:
This one may look strange but was a highly anticipated first person puzzler in the veins of Portal, Braid, The Witness and Antichamber. Best with controller. Mesmerizing game!

    INMOST:
I read some very good things about this dark, story driven jump and run. If you have s thing for a bit tense atmosphere, give this a try.

    Pilgrims:
It‘s short but you NEED to play it. It‘s fantastic. By the masterminds of dream like and absolutely amazing Point and Click adventures Machinarium, Botanicula, Chuchel and Samorost comes this witty adventure. Amanita Design at its best!

That concluded part 1... Safari broke down again. I will cover the initial release titles in another post.

  • WOAH!!! Thanks for the headsup!!! A long time should I get or not candidate :)

I love Pubg, the only issue I have with it is the wait time in 1st person mode on the North America server, especially when you get closer to higher up in rank, the other severs aren’t as bad but my ping gets higher on them. The wait on 3rd person seem fine but I’m more of a 1st person player.

  • Call of Duty Mobile is a great FPS and also free , same developer as Pubg. There are iap’s but none that give anyone an unfair advantage, mainly just characters and different weapon skins and a few weapons you can also earn without spending money.

  • yeah COD mobile is basically same as PUPB .. same dev, same gfx engine (unreal engine), same gameplay :-) .. but somehow i'm enjoying PUBG more .. no idea why :)

  • Supposedly this maze game was $30 - now free

I like Pubg better for Battle Royale matches and COD better for Team Death matches.

    They really aren’t comparable games

  • @Zaubrer Many thanks for your writeup and the details.

But to be honest, links to the AppStore would be more useful.

From your description, i was curious about “No Way Home”, but searching for it only found this:

No Way Home - Fill The Bus by Dusit Pongsapipat
    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/no-way-home-fill-the-bus/id1490426660?l=en

    Is this the right thing?
It does not seem to fit your description.

You better check out the Arcade tab in the App Store and scroll down to see all games :)

Sorry, getting all those links was a hassle, especially since I had to rewrite that post twice cause my Safari and App Store crashed... and I thought the old 2017 iPad Pro would still be good heh

Maybe I’ll add links later if I got a free minute

    Ahhhhh, @Zaubrer

All or most of your games are from Apple Arcade!
No wonder, that i could not find them on my iOS 12.4 device.
I still prefer this over iPadOS.

Apple will never ever get monthly money from me ....
5 Euro allow to buy between ca. 12 and 60 games per year, assuming prices from 1 to 5 dollars, which is true for most games - that you then OWN forever.

    No way :D

EDIT: Yes, i found this already out by myself, checking the situation from another iPad :)

As I had written earlier, if people are in lockdown and are really looking for quality games on iOS, Apple Arcade is the best value for money, if you only subscribe for one month.

You won’t get a lot of premium games for $5.

Just use the free month and see if you like some and then maybe you decide to stay one more month.

Tbh there’s no point to stay subscribed for a whole year how you suppose.

    Yes, i understand.
Personally, i prefer to buy games.
But i sure don’t need more games at all.

On my 12.9 Pro, i have 917 Apps installed.
Even if 1/3 are musical Apps and another 1/3 some other stuff, there will still be around 300 games.

    Thanks!

I hardly know any „gamer“ who „needs“ more games. I got around 1200 shared between console and PC and probably the same amount on iOS. I obviously prefer to pay for premium games as well, but as I said, there are some extremely quality games on Apple Arcade which definitely make it worth the money for one or two month. Especially with games which are supposed to be played once because they are heavily story (or puzzle) based.

Apple Arcade is the perfect solution for those who are in lockdown now but maybe are no serious gamers but want to delve into the world of iOS gaming for the first time especially. Theres a whole lot for everyone to enjoy. Great games for kids, great games for adults, great games for local multiplayer.

Obviously someone who has enough games doesn‘t need it. I don‘t need it cause my backlog is big enough but still, I got my money worth and don‘t need to „own“ very game if I play it only once anyways. I own enough already heh

    TL;DR

This list was primarily meant for non-gaming enthusiast who are looking for some diversion during the next month or two and want to whole lot of options for the best value.

  • Yes, as i already wrote, i understand.
This was meant to confirm that i understood your reasoning and argumentation.
    Everything fine.
