Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Beatmaker 3 record MIDI (anyhow)

I know BM3 received quite a lot of hate after last two updates for crippling MIDI AUs. It was supposed to be fixed in next version but I am not sure if this even happened?
Neverthelees, is there currently ANY way how to get MIDI from AUs into sequencer? I have Audioveek's MIDI tools, but it's audio bus tool does not seem to help with the recording itself. Any ideas how to “hack” it, other than manually rewriting notes? :#
Thank s a lot!

  • Just put beatmaker audioveek record midi into google and you will find many hits explaining how to do it.

You have to place an instance of Audioveek's midi route (from his Midi tools suite) onto the pad that contains the midi AU you want to capture (placing it after the source).

Then you can configure bm3 to capture the output of midi route onto a new empty song lane (separate bank).

I agree with bleep that googling for a video would be easier than reading my butchered summary of the process.

If you don't have any success, reply here and I'd be happy to record you a quick video of the steps involved.

Thanks, my mistake was trying to use the Bus plugin, which actually sends the notes to the new bank, but the notes are not recordable. The Route plugin is the right one for this job. For anyone reading this, take a look at this video (second half) for instructions:
    Thanks again guys!
