MOTU MicroBook llc input level on iOS/iPadOS

Does anybody know whether it's possible to adjust the input level of one of the input channels of the MOTU Microbook llc on iPadOS?

I'm experiencing clipping even with low input levels. Turning down volume/gain in e.g. AUM doesn't work because the signal arrives distorted already.

It's kind of strange because when I send low input it's just quite. As soon the signal gets louder I get the trouble...
