Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

FM Player 2 crashing as Auv3

edited February 2020 in General App Discussion

Anyone having problems with FM Player 2? I’m using as Auv3 inside Beatmaker 3 and it keeps crashing or going silent, but mostly crashing. Love the sounds, just wish I could keep it going.

Comments

  • Stick to one instance per project. It’s more stable that way

I was only using one. I’m assuming by your comment that the app is known for being unstable? That’s sucks because it’s got some great sounds.

  • I think that all AudioKit AUs are struggling with stability at the moment (is that fair?).

Yes fantastic sounds but it’s swift-based audio engine is currently struggling as an Auv3...

  • There's hope on the horizon. Been working daily on some excellent new AUv3 open-source example code. This new code will power future AK apps (and any developers apps that want to use this MIT open source code). Plus, we can then go back and implement it into FM2 & D1.

  • @analog_matt great news! Thank you to you all for your effort!

Will the new code reduce the memory footprint and patch loading times (e.g. by introducing streaming from disk?)

  • November 2020. I use the app each day and it crashes at least 2 times a day in AUM. That’s sad because I like the sound of this app.

  • AudioKit. Great sound, terrible stability. They are all a WIP I understand so not all is lost.

    This is why I donate.

The problem was always too many midi signals.
Today, the app received an update.

I tried to sequence something intense in the app, put the tempo at 240 bpm, let it run 5 minutes, no more crashes. I hope it's true because I really like this app. The only annoying thing was the crashes but I think the new update fixed it!

    Cool!
