Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Does anybody use the Arturia SparkLE controller with other apps than iSpark?

  • Should work, but I haven't tried.

Mode selector Bank, Pattern, Seq, Tune, Bus powered, class compliant USB input, User assignable encoders, Advanced Looper Divide/Move function, Classic TR style programming
Real-time programming from the pads, Protective travel sleeve, Small, Portable, Solid construction, MIDI mode for use as a controller with any software.

  • I think you'll need at least a Win or Mac machine to run Arturia's controller software to configure the thing.

  • I doubt there will be much benefit if not used with the appropriate (and proprietary) software. Wasn‘t there a firmware issue Aruria refused to fix?

  • I had one some time ago. Holding a few buttons makes it go in to midi mode. All knobs can be assigned from there. From experience I can tell you, It works great with their own software. As midi controller, you have to use the pc editor to assign notes to the pads and cc’s to the encoders. On the controller, most of the controls are labeled. This irritated me after some time. I ended up getting a beatstep, which has more encoders to play with.
