Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Hey everyone, fyi it’s @LFS, not @lars.
GarageBand - fun app
Cubasis - easy to use app
Auria - powerful app
I probably missed the answer to this question, but here goes:
Is there a way to transfer the purchased IAPs from iPad to the iPhone version?
From v2 to v3 within the same iPad worked nicely.
If you’ve already transferred IAPs on iPad you should be able to open the store on the iPhone version and hit restore purchases, I think that’s what I did to get them on iPhone.
True on the FX .. but the point is this particular project can play and the effects including EOS be edited in real time while it’s playing .. all smooth as silk in Cubasis 2 .. even on my 1st generation iPad Pro .. this video clip of mine is on a 2nd generation iPad Pro.
I stopped using it for now.The unpredictability gets in the way of my creative flow. For example a project (well, more a small idea..) that worked in one session crashed twice the next session just because i tapped on an empty space in the project/arranger screen. And it never saves the last state when it crashes.I don't like to worry and think twice about every single step i'm doing while trying to be creative.Still confident those things will get squashed over time though.
same here, stopped using it for now but I‘m sure by Summer thing will start to look differently and I‘m really looking forward to using Cubasis 3 once it becomes more reliable
This didn’t work for me on the iphone. I ended up accidentally buying a plug in Bundle that should’ve been transferred 🙄
I did the plug in bundle transfer and it shows up on iPad in C3 but not iPhone. @LFS
Once I get the iPhone 11 I’ll buy C3. Then it’s a matter of upgrading my Air2. I grew up on Performer back in the 90’s-early 2000’s. I think that’s why Cubase now feels familiar to me but so much more advanced than DP back in the day (of course all DAWs are way more sophisticated now). But when I sit in front of Ableton, it’s visually discouraging to me. And first impressions are hard to overcome when they’re not good. So, yeah, I’ll be doing C3 on iOS and Cubase (not sure if I’m going Windows or Mac bc I’m not liking the comments on lockups and stammering)
For doing live, I would use nothing more than placing stems on GB’s Live Loops grid cells and triggering them randomly - entire column of cells or individual cells like a DJ along with GB’s built in FX
I don’t do live gigs anymore.
Wait, but is this Apple or Cubasis3? And are there no settings to change this in either? Strange, because I run Auria on Air2 (2014) and load up many FabFilter, etc al, instances with no issue at all. I know those are internal to Auria, but still. Seems odd that Apple would dictate and limit this.
It’s Apple. AUv3 is the difference. Internal effects aren’t AUv3 and therefore don’t play by the same rules.
Auria is really designed as the most powerful mixing and mastering app on iOS. Of course, you could use it to produce and arrange as well, but it’s severely inferior to all the others unless you’re tracking live instruments only and no need for midi. Cubasis mixing is certainly powerful, but if you’re crazy about FF plugins like I am, then Auria takes the cake regarding mixing. But I’ve really only had to rely on it because I use Gadget and we all know Gadget is severely deficient in Mixing and Mastering tools. So once I go Cubasis, I’m sure I’ll only rely on Auria for Mastering at that point.
Ok tks but then why wouldn’t Apple allow user to allocate what he wants? Oh that’s right, it’s Apple, not Microsoft.
So then the question is.... does anyone run Cubase on Windows? I’m debating spending either $1200 on a Win10 machine, or (painfully) dropping $2400 for that stupid Pro 16”. Thoughts? The $1200 I save could buy me Komplete Ultimate. That’s how silly it is to buy a Mac. Especially when some of you complain about stammering. LOL what a joke.
Yeah I’m running into too many issues for it to be efficient from a creativity standpoint.
Alas, other apps will have my attention for the time being. I haven’t given Beatmaker 3 much time, nor have I allotted proper time to the various grooveboxes I have. Come to think of it, I also have a couple synth apps that could use some attention. Haven’t done anything with that last big update on Shapesynth.
If you’re big on drum programming and using samples, sample-manipulation etc, then BM3 would be your thing. However, regarding using external synths etc, it’s OK, but I would say it’s better if you plan to load an external, get the sound/notes/chords ready, and then sample/assign them to BM3 pads.
To use several concurrent external synths, Cubasis3 is probably the way to go. Jacob has a good video on the differences.
Unless you need tempo change sounds like a plan. Auria Pro has that tempo track which is huge for some genre’s. As I get older and my meter and chops get worse .. having tempo change in a sequencer becomes a must.
I haven’t had the need for tempo change since I mainly produce house genres and other electronic music. But I could see how that would be a deal breaker if you rely on it and a DAW doesn’t satisfy that.
I dunno what you talking about,i can have a lot of tempo changes in Cubasis.Only small changes and from the unwanted, wonky sorts but still... 🤓
@LFS When trying to restore it says: Nothing to restore. There were no past purchases on this account.
On the iPad I have the following:
Waves plug-in bundle, Cubasis FX pack 1 and Cubasis FX pack 2.
I did register on the iPhone so I got the Roomworks SE.
I have Cubasis on one of my PC’s .. but prefer Cockos Reaper these days because I can customize it to look and work however I want. There is no shame using a PC for music production these days. Back in the 80’s
Cubasis does not have midi tempo/time signature change. Nanostudio 2 has both, Auria Pro has tempo. Many people have been vocal that Cubasis needs this rudimentary feature, and Steinberg has acknowledged the feature is on their to do list.
I don’t know. I haven’t used Cu yet. Just going by what he said lol.
Yeah, I may go PC with Cubase. Does anyone know what happens if I install on Windows, then months later want to install on Mac and deactivate the Windows install? Does Steinberg allow switching platforms as long as there’s only 1 active install? Or do they treat them as two separate purchases?
Hi there guys, here is a new beat I made entirely in Cubasis 3.
Check the description to see the apps I used.
Video of the process will also be available soon, just need to get my voice over right.
Hope you enjoy it.
its not clear to me whether or not this version has aux sends and side chain abilities for critical work.
new technologies;
-live plus tempo and pitch detect
-real time 'stretch and pitch' triggered by midi or audio
-smart midi to audio and audio to midi
-accurate high res 196k non destructive editing like in digidesign pro tools
-16 busses, side chain pre and post fx
Can’t wait to sit down with Cubase this week. I actually tried to set aside my initial feeling towards Ableton and give it another try. Installed 10 Lite, and connected my Launchkey 49. First of all, it immediately brought back negative feelings when I saw it open with Mixer only window and no Arrange window. Wtf? Not to mention, the workspace overall just feels so disjointed or chaotic. So I managed to figure out how to open a second window, to start tinkering with a sound. Realized I had to head to Prefs to set up midi. Fine. Go in, select LK from Control Surface yet INPUT is greyed out. I disconnect and reconnect LK to no avail. I power cycle Ableton... nope. I spend 20 min on google searching a solution... nope. Man, i really despise Ableton with a passion. LoL
Are new technologies part of their roadmap or already implemented in v3?

Did u connect with usb? If so it automatically configured ready for use...on my Mac anyhoo
nope, but they are finally been implemented in computers, the ios platform is a new market, which explains why apple is taking their sweet time milking the market by not opening iPads up as computers, removing ports etc etc
give cubase ios two more years before apple allows such implementation for developers
