Audiobus: Use your music apps together.

What is Audiobus?Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.

Audiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Upcoming new apps in February:

edited February 2014 in General App Discussion

So lots of new stuff coming up in the next two weeks. Thought we'd list what we're looking forward to! I'll put apps with a confirmed release date under "confirmed". And apps that doesn't have a set release date but will, according to the devs, most likely appear before the 28th under "unconfirmed". I'll start with the apps I know of so far, and will fill it up with all confirmed stuff you know of.

  • Not a new release, but looking forward to Gadget update.
birdStepper will be a good new release also.

  • @ChrisG good thread. I would add...

New releases (unconfirmed dates) Sliver (Distraub), IVSC3

Updates Cubasis, Auria, Stroke Machine, Mastering app, Effectrix, WaveMapper, Gadget

Are sliver, birdstepper and ivcs3 (more or less) confirmed for a February release?

Edit: Can't find any info about them being submitted to Apple yet.

Btw, no updates in the lists, since updates hits all the time.

  • Distraub said he was hoping to submit Sliver a few days ago. Sound clips and screenshots released so I think this one is imminent.

IVCS3 not sure now, I thought they had announced but keeps changing.

  • I'm looking forward to Sliver and Birdstepper, but don't wanna get my hopes up without word from the devs (hey, I'm a first class appoholic so...;).

  • @ChrisG birdStepper is ready, just final bug testing.

Thanks. So most likely a March release on that then, given how long Apples review process tend to be nowadays.

  • Distraub has just confirmed he will submit Sliver tomorrow.

  • Great! Thanks

  • OK... So, why is it that when I click the prompt for Sliver (for example) above & the web page I am taken to has no mention of such? Tracking down the right sort of iOS music app info is, for me, disheartening at times... and I hate to bug you folks with EVERY question I have & have had... I'm pretty sure you can help, but I dare not ask every time for fear of being considered lazy or stupid or something. Heck, even some app manuals fail to tell me everything I feel I need to know! Some of us are NOT audio engineers.
Sorry... Just venting. I do appreciate this forum very much!

@Brian A lot of the info is gathered from Twitter and Facebook. Many devs use twitter to bring out tidbits about this and that, and to communicate with users (besides forums like this). Personally I do a quick glance on twitter and FB every day, helps if you're following iOS music devs obviously. :)

Other then that, palmsounds and disccord are two sites that usually gathers the most important stuff from the social networks, plus inside sources, and posts it. Musicappblog.com also posts news, but is more a great resource for in depth articles/reviews, rather then every little news tidbits that gets out.

  • Cakewalk Z3TA+ ios Available on the Apple App Store starting in February 2014, Can't get much more confirmed. This is directly from the Cakewalk page.

  • Sliver?, it's actually Silver ,sound demo @-

  • Definitely Sliver...from the mouth of the dev Alex

    .

  • Really curious to see if Auria will bring a game changing update to the table!

Midi sequencing and perhaps a synth?!

  • Audiobus 2 and UVI BeatHawk are two that haven't been mentioned that should be coming soon--though I don't know if they will meet the end of month deadline or not.....

  • Aargh, end of month deadlines - I have enough of that with work!! Coming soon will do me (but it's not my thread) ;-)

  • Sliver is most likely getting 1 more build and then will be submitted, most likely tomorrow if testing on a few last things goes over smoothly.
I've been working closely with Alex (distraub) getting Sliver primed, and can tell you that it is a very impressive app that you will have a tough time putting down. It's super fun, and sounds otherworldly good.

It is sample based. Currently you can record directly into Sliver for samples, or import via audioshare/audiocopy. You manipulate the size and location of up to 4 real-time resizable clips... slivers of the core sample... each has its own associated xy pad for freq and playback size control. A number of Channel and FX parameters will shape and color the sound via 4 more xy pads. Its controls can be fully automated, with live touch takeover. Fully MIDI learn assignable. Sliver will sit in the AB input slot. Anyhow, you can get an endless range of sounds out of this, and even create your own instruments, playable on the built in keys, or external. I won't give away too much... video is coming.

  • Ok so Sliver will not be submitted today? I'll just remove it until you or Alex knows if it looks like a Feb release will be possible (don't wanna get anyone's hopes up;)

@tritonman2 Unconfirmed release dates, but still February release.

  • @ChrisG as per my earlier post, Alex tweeted me overnight to say he was about to submit. Let's see.

Yep yep I saw the tweets. But then this evil @OmnilimbO came and ruined everything :( Let's see later or tomorrow what's happening with Sliver.

  • @Audiojunkie UVI BeatHawk was said to still have a few months of development needed at NAMM, although I hope to see a release sooner than that

Got it! Thanks , this looks really nice!
