Audiobus: Use your music apps together.
What is Audiobus? — Audiobus is an award-winning music app for iPhone and iPad which lets you use your other music apps together. Chain effects on your favourite synth, run the output of apps or Audio Units into an app like GarageBand or Loopy, or select a different audio interface output for each app. Route MIDI between apps — drive a synth from a MIDI sequencer, or add an arpeggiator to your MIDI keyboard — or sync with your external MIDI gear. And control your entire setup from a MIDI controller.
Download on the App StoreAudiobus is the app that makes the rest of your setup better.

Actually a lot of the Basic Channel/Rhythm & Sound chord stabs are indeed just generic FM synth presets with no additional programming except FX added.
You can do formants in fM quite easily

Lovely box! Like jomox or sherman effect units.
AUM+MIDI CONTROLLER+whatever fx you like routed however you like (including feedback)+shit loads of time. The time is the expensive part.
Here’s my latest take:

The problem, at least for me, is that these prebuilt multi-fx always have some limitation, bug, issue, that I think would be so easy to work around if I would have built it myself in software. Considering all this stuff is just software with dedicated interface/hardware just do it yourself if you can. Get a really good audio interface with good sounding preamps. That’s typically the missing element of iPad stuff vs dedicated hardware.
Thanks for this. Useful.
Great thread. I’m itching to get cracking on some of these ideas 👍
